Via Carscoops:
In this instance, the owner of what we are told was a brand new 2019 Ford Mustang GT coupe that was acquired just three days before the incident received a rude (and wet) awakening in Canada after allegedly attempting a poorly conceived drift in the wet.
It all went down in Cranbrook, British Columbia in Canada earlier this week at the parking lot of a local mall where young men usually gather outside a Tim Horton’s restaurant. The young, and up until then, proud owner of the “Need for Green” colored Mustang GT attempted to drift the muscle car that’s powered by a 460 hp 5.0-liter V8 in the wet, and not before long, he crash landed in an adjacent creek. Ouch!
We spoke to someone claiming to have knowledge of the accident who told us that the driver “was young and inexperienced and tried to show off” by drifting in the rain. “He lost control and crashed. It was a brand new car, bought it 3 days prior”. On the bright side, our source tells us that “nobody was hurt” – besides the muscle car. Well, that’s got to count for something.
As for the car, it doesn’t look good, as we’re guessing that with all the body, mechanical and possibly even water damage, it’s probably going to be a write-off.
