Simultaneously Humerus and Frustrating

Like many of you, I periodically receive the "Time to Upgrade" letters that my local Ford Dealership sends out. I know these are probably computer generated by some vehicle size and/or pricing algorithm...but really! They want me to trade my daily driver, a 2016 Focus ST2 in on an EcoSport...really! Lots of similarities between those two! If this is the best that they do...when it does come time to trade the Screaming Yellow Zonker, it may be time to look elsewhere...

Yeah, it is just marketing. Ford sends us stuff all the time to try to get us to trade in our Fusion. We have 6 months of 0% payments left, the way they word it is if I trade this car in I get a new car with more options and still save $59 a month. Wow sounds great except I would now have payments for 6 years instead of 6 months which is also 2 years longer than our original financing plan.

I also constantly get offers for extended warranties.

There is nothing humorous about the humerus, especially if it is broken. Also, the "funny bone" is actually the ulnar nerve as it runs through the medial epicondyle of the distal humerus and is decidedly not humorous when struck.

Yeah, I got a nice "fake" email from my purchasing dealer a short while back... Marketing or not, I have to say this it's a pretty shady practice. I don't have any good things to say about the purchasing dealer as it stands - long story there, so it doesn't surprise me that they have no issues with sending something like this out:

I'm not surprised no matter what your history with that dealer might have been.

Over the years, I've gotten a number of similar messages - snail-mail, no less - from the dealership that sold me my '08 GT looking to buy it back. Last one was only a few weeks ago, looking for the car I've kept for 12 years.

I got those emails in the past. Funny when I was purchasing my 2019 Mustang, I was going to trade-in my 2011 F150, because from the emails and messages posted, they were in real dire need of F150s from my year range. The funny part was they certainly didn't seem to care as trade-in value was very low. I decided to sell privately for much more than they offered.

Bought the 16 from a Ford dealer used car lot. They're still trying to sell me an extended warranty from one end of the dealership when the sales end went out of its way to say "no warranty" BC it came with the supercharger already on it. Knuckleheads.

LOL I got one of these from a GM dealer once that was even using a font to make it look like it was hand written with a pen. Scammers! You should have said well I really like the Mach E can you put me in one of those today

While this is undoubtedly true, if I read Mark's post correctly he's not wondering at having received the letter (which, as you say, is usual practice), but rather at Ford's strange suggestion of replacing his hot Focus ST with a stupid, dreary, low-cost crossover.

i got one from my local ford dealer (who i do not buy from, but travel 30 miles away to buy and service my cars) saying they wanted to buy my 2012 mustang boss 302...
they wanted to give me the highest KBB value plus 10%..... they said their starting trade in price for my "boss" was $12,500.00 plus the 10%.
i just threw it away.....i almost fell on the floor laughing at their price! i REALLY wanted to go down and drive the boss and shove it in their face and laugh at them but why waste my time and energy for nothing....

and like some have said, its most likely computer generated so who cares. we get random letters in the mail from businesses with similar stuff so they pay $$ to access a database with your info and just
send you stuff to try and bait you.
i will shop when and where i want thank you. that is our privilege here in the USA. when im forced to do it otherwise then i will do it.
