Thanks for the note. I cancelled for Monday. I will talk to them. As I said car has 250 miles on it as I just got it. Head of service said they had never replaced a shifter before but would “figure it out “.
Is it worth me to install an after market shifter.
Much better feel, throw etc ??
The stock shifter was (is) good, and the MGW is amazing. I wish I had driven one before purchasing, because it would have eliminated any doubt. I am a big fan. Lots of reviews on this forum, and most of it is not hype.

I drove a few thousand miles with the stock unit buzzing and rattling. I did the shifter spring fix to quell the rattles but never was fully satisfied with the feel. The way I see it... there won't be many manual transmission cars left soon. Why not splurge where it counts? :)

Thanks Alain, I think you are 100 percent on target. I cringe at the thought of those guys dismantling my baby with 250 miles on it.
I will wait. You mentioned you got a notice also.
You have a 19 ?

Yes sir, I have a 2019 with 20 miles on it. Bought it last September and was only able to drive it once due to work schedule and weather. It’s been sleeping through the winter (I’m sure you can relate being from Pennsylvania).

when I drove the car last year the shifter was fine. I plan on driving it with the stock unit for a bit while I research and find a dealership I can trust.

Before I get the warranty work done, Im going to see if my car suffers from the stock shifter rattle at high RPMs that a lot of people have encountered. If my car has that issue I am going to install the MGW unit myself.

Then, go to the Ford dealership and trade my weak stock shifter for the updated version and just keep it in the box at home.

Sounds like a good plan. I will try to find a qualified master mechanic around me. I really appreciate the comments as most people don’t understand these cars and the passion we all ha e for them

I bought my 19 at John Kennedy in Jenkintown, Pa. on the 2/24.
Got the notice on my Ford Pass. I called them and asked them about it.
They had already done the fix the day after they got the notice. Said they weren't allowed to sell the car before it was done. Ford's field service action called for all 350's in stock to be done.
The notice disappeared in my Ford Pass app.
You might want to give them a shot.

Being a Ford Senior Master Technician , and do all the work on all the svt that come in , I have done 5 . Not hard to do just doesn't pay well from a technicians stand point . Even though I don't have a 350 , but just a GT . I have driven a lot of 350s , and I have a mgw in my GT , I would highly recommend the upgrade .

Your dealership is not in NJ is it?? I’m on my iPhone and I can’t see where you are from by looking at your post.
