I saw three independent dyno results. Two in US and one in Germany. They were 581hp, 582hp and 582hp. All these three are as consistent as it gets. Ford is notorious for under-rating their horsepower ratings. Look up the fiasco of the 1999 Mustang Cobra. It was supposed to have 320hp at the crank and was more like 270-280. Ford never made that mistake again.
I have never seen any dyno that high aside from the one from MT? which they later retracted.

RIght, the ones posted by Bcobb are more typical of the runs I've seen.

The second gen Voodoo is now mentioned in wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5.2_L_"Voodoo"_V8
The Wikipedia article says a lot about a lot of things, but source information it references about a "gen 2" Voodoo is a Steve Turner article that doesn't say any of them except that the block is the same as the GT500. Everything else the Turner article says, where it references GT350 or GT350R, is where tech from the GT350/R was ported to the GT500, not the other way around.

I'm not saying wiki article is wrong, but I do think it's misleading. Most of the stuff on the list of "upgrades" has all been in use or came about as a result of batch-by-batch running changes over the five year life cycle of the Voodoo.

Might they have taken those comments down now? I don't see reference to a "2" version

I don't see the reference to Gen2 Voodoo engine anymore on Wikipedia. However, there's a reference to GT350R engine, which Ford put in GT350 starting with MY2019: "The GT350R variant of the engine received a number of valvetrain enhancements, including the timing chains, lash adjusters, and VCT mechanisms." Ford claims that there's no difference between GT350R and GT350 engines. So, there may be other modifications(shared engine block between GT500 and GT350) as posted previously that Ford didn't release. It's all confusing to average Joe.

...and of course, we know that 2019 onward, ALL GT350 has the "R" motor

Can you provide a link or reference to the Ford notice that that took place, or is it just more internet wisdom?

I think I can dig it up, yes. I think Ford referred to it as "Job 1, versus Job 2" . I will send in the next few days. I have both a family reunion today, and a loss in the family with the viewing tomorrow and the burial Monday.

I don't have the lighting fast response namely as I am interested enough in the cars to read up on them, but not to the point of obsessive. But I think I can find it. There is one poster that actually had photos of the different blocks, I think that was on a Ford Performance site where you could buy various motor items

I also wonder with the number of older FPC motors for had to replace if they would be keep the issue and improvements as quiet as possible, or else maybe everyone might try to force a claim on them over it burning a quart of oil. I know in the case with Porsche they never wanted to admit the IMS issue, despite it being well documented. It ended up in a class lawsuit just the same

Not sure about this site(another internet rumor?): https://fordauthority.com/fmc/ford-...d-5-2l-engine-family/ford-5-2l-voodoo-engine/
It mentioned that Voodoo is sharing many components with Predator engine. So, this can only be applied to 2019+ Voodoo engine.
So I didn't realize the GT500 was not using the FPC configuration..

" Contrary to the 5.2L Voodoo engine that powers the Shelby GT350, the Predator doesn’t utilize a flat plane crankshaft. Ford stipulates that such a configuration wasn’t necessary due to the significant power bumps created by the supercharger."

The invoice for my 2019 car said "Job #2". I had the salesman show me the invoice.

The dealers invoice? I didn't get a copy myself, just a window sticker

So if someone wanted to "upgrade" to the gen2 from a gen1 would just replacing the short block cover it and be substantially less expensive than the 20k+ cited to replace a voodoo out of warranty?
