And not even the brand new C8 Z51.. The rallying call is for the yet to be announced Z06 which is probably 18-24 months away, Some of these guys are going to have a rough couple of years...
Tell them it's foolish to associate their identity with a brand. Just buy the car they like and celebrate competition.

I know, it is foolish. I have had both Ford & GM and both have their failings and shining lights. I am only on this thread because it is so ridiculously blindly bias. So it makes it fun. They don't seem to get it that I don't care about this "VIR Comparison Time Trials", even though the comparison was about a whole lot of metrics not just one. Plus they bring in other stats from other tests, when this thread is about 1 comparison.

Not you too. There is nothing in the published article's data table that supports those numbers.
I am thinking what really happened on this test for the VIR stat, is that the C8 went around the track 20 times and got a 2:00 every time and the GT500 went 20 laps and got the 1:59 once and all of the rest are 2:01+. And they only published the one hero run that cannot be reproduced.

It's just people like you that like to take one metric and bask in some delusional glory and ignore all of the failings. It is sad really.
Well, with this post alone, you make it abundantly clear that your postings in the thread are only meant to antagonize some of the members of this forum.

While I do take the article for what it was, an effort by Motor Trend to compare the road course performance of both the GT500 and the C8 Stingray, that does not mean I am "ignoring" any other performance metrics that were published. I don't recall ever putting forth any statements where "basked in some delusional glory' regarding the performance of the GT500 versus the C8 in any performance category. If you would like to quote where I have, please feel free to remind me.

The only thing "lost" in any of this, is your ability to form a coherent thought. BTW - in what I assume - is a non-ironic moment, you __also__ managed to spell argument wrong ... :cwl:
Of course I did, I was speelling like a Mustang Fanboi...

The Z06 is supposed to come out in 9 months. But the way I look at it, the ZL1 has been killing the GT350 since 2017 for over 2 years. So Ford is just now catching up. And Ford guys were saying, "oh, but the ZL1 has 124 more HP!" so should win and it did.
Funny I dont recall the GT350 losing the H2H matchup or any other comparison to the ZL1.

Dont forget "POORS", you can't have a GT 500 thread without that one!
i thought that was already assumed by the same trlls under different names reviving this thread? Its funny when he mentioned the gratton video, it was nearly verbatim as a person who was banned in the 1st 10 pages here.. makes ya think

So.. we have learned, Cobras kill Vipers, C8 isnt even in the same league :)

Not according to my sources. They are hearing at least 12-18 months. I just hope GM doesn’t botch this like the last Z06 release.

Is that a real thought, or something to get us riled up? Obviously, reality is probably somewhere in between.

IE
yes, they took the absolute best lap to show ( maybe not, it is GM Trend for a reason) but in reality, after 20 laps with the C8 not even coming close to the slowest base gt500 lap, they did the alignment and then another 20 laps "to keep the lap count equal between cars" or ome other bs play on words.

My point is:

Did anyone catch how the GT500s raped the c8 in MT review?

stock for stock, the base was 4 seconds faster than C8, and th CFTP was 9 seconds faster. simply amazing!!

You do realize they didn’t do both cars at the same time. The Vette’s time was when they did the c7 vs C8 test. Then later they did the gt500 test, then combined both results into the gt500 vs C8 reviews.

Yeah the regular ZL1 beat the GT350R in every possible performance metric, and chose the GT350 for feels. But what do you care what they say anyways? They sandbag the Fords and cheat with GM products to make them faster, if you listen to some of these fine folk.

Priced Out Of Range (generally used in the context of people of insufficient means bitching about a car they can't hope to ever purchase)
Plus a lot of it is people bitching about ADM that makes the price OOR. Maybe they would buy it if not for the ADM.

POOR.s

1. ADM makes it POOR so then no purchase.
2. ADM makes it POOR, not going to buy on principal with ADM attached.
3. No ADM, can't afford it anyway and still bitch.
4. POOR until they can buy a used one.

I would buy a 202x GT500 if I would not get raped by the ADM and I think I really could get a good deal eventually. I bought too early on my 2016 GT350 and paid $3k ADM which I talked them down from $5k. So not bad, but my problem is with Ford not standing behind their product 3 times with me on an F150, Mustang GT and GT350. Not the dealers, FOMOCO. I lost trust in Ford to stand behind their product by Ford calling the dealer and telling them to NOT work on my vehicles, twice. Ford makes great products and I am very impressed with the GT500. It looks better than the ZL1, not by a huge margin, but better.

I wish I could trust Ford and it makes me sad that my dad and I have been Ford peeps my whole life and then Ford did me some serious wrong, not just once.
