I still think it's funny the Chevy fanboys are crying that the base gt500 shouldn't be compared to the c8 z51 with track alignment. Can you imagine when the gt500 gets compared to the zl1? That truly will be a one car gang rape but I can already see the excuses now. But the gt500 has 120hp more! The gt500 is newer! The gt500 had a better driver and newer tires!

Look at the Camaro fans constantly posting the zr1 vs GT track time. You know what would have happened if the GT was faster? It's not fair the GT costs 5 times more! Excuses excuses. And now look how nobody mentions the Camaro. Now its, oh yeah just wait until the z06 and zr1 c8 come out then it will really spank the gt500. You know what I will say? Well yeah it's a mid engine 2 seater that weighs hundreds of pounds less and costs more...

They are far from the same price. A 1lt with z51 and mag is about $10,000 less. This is very similar set up as the GT500 with handling package. Far from same price.

And $10K for people who are shopping $65-100K+ “sportscars” is nothing. Many C8’s will be well over $70K with options and very few sold initially will be the $60K base car.

It’s just common sense. I guarantee you there are C8 owners right now who have cancelled their order for a GT500.

We not talking content. You can’t check every box on the option chart then say it’s similar price. It’s feature to feature. There are many things that the Vette has that is not available in the gt500. There may be some who a switching, but all 40,000 Vette being made are sold. How many gt500 are being made, 5000? So still 8 times more are buying the Vette over the gt500.

It’s amazing to me how threatened Corvette owners seem to be by a Mustang. As someone who likes and owns both brands I welcome it. Ford killed it with the GT500 and raised the bar. This is good for consumers.

Ford did do well with the GT500 and I like it very much. But I'm also realistic and knowing they only compared the two as these are the new kids on the block coming out almost the same time. Plus they had both a VIR doing there testing even though they were at different days, but same driver and track. So it only made sense to compare them. But my guess we will never see a head 2 head of both.

GT500 and ZL1 should be close with edge going to GT500.

GT500 CFTP and ZLE should be close but I genuinely don't know who gets the edge. The CFTP still has the MR shocks and softer suspension bits for comfort which sacrifices some handling.

CFTP is definitely the better all around car of them all.
