It’s hard to imagine how long this thread would be if Ford built only 300 GT500s like they did with the Y2K Cobra R...This f$&kin thread. Has some legs. I assumed it would have died after about 100 posts.

1.727 60 foot.1.70 or 1.79?
Man that ET will drop to 10.0's easy with traction and tire if the dct can take more rpm.
Question... what happens when you foot brake this thing?
Hahaha, I'd assume D takes on a whole new meaning when you do that ...Who wants to be first to rev it up to 4k in neutral and turn the dial to D ;)
My instructor did 1:12.8 with my car on my local track which I already had over 60 laps on and I only manage 1:14 so I get your frustration.I love all the paper racers and internet racers that say that....my car should run xx.xx..... 'SHOULD' , i personally have a car that 'should' run 12.5 and yet i can only get a 13.0x out of it,
What would happen if you put the car in Drag mode. bypassed launch control, put the dial in D, held down the brake, pulled back on both paddle shifters (neutral), held the rpm to 4000 and released the paddles and the brake at the same time and just held on for the ride?I mean I assume it's not good because the clutch is engaged but the sw has to have been programmed to do something when you do this...

Technically you cant, i dont believe. Without LC engaged, clutches release as soon as brake is applied.1.727 60 foot.
I also am really wondering about foot braking .
Never thought about that, but im pretty positive your clutches would be smoked very very quickly doing that. Probably the worst option of the 3 id say, performance or longevityWhat would happen if you put the car in Drag mode. bypassed launch control, put the dial in D, held down the brake, pulled back on both paddle shifters (neutral), held the rpm to 4000 and released the paddles and the brake at the same time and just held on for the ride?
I don’t quite understand.Technically you cant, i dont believe. Without LC engaged, clutches release as soon as brake is applied.
I spoke with tremec about a "mini LC" feature my previous car had.
Scenario:
Stoplight/staging light
Right ft on brake
Light turns green
Right ft off brake
Right foot smashes throttle pedal
Rpms jump wild up
Clutches engage car spins or launches
They said the gt500 will do this as well. I do not recall if TC/LC strategies are in play with this method.
However, this may be the poor mans LC technique to get higher rpms until turning is available
If by foot braking you meanI don’t quite understand.
First you say, technically you can’t.
Then you say the Tremec engineers said you can???
Okay I get it now.If by foot braking you mean
Left foot on brake
Right foot on gas
Light turns green
Left foot off brake
Right foot stays WOT
Then no, u cant footbrake
