Hi,

I ordered a GT 500 CFTP on march 18. Originally my build date was the week of may 27, with delivery on June 9. Now my build date is June 14 with delivery date of July 14. I was just curious what time frame other GT 500 owners are experiencing and if I should expect another " build date " delay. The only option I did not get was the painted stripe.

I guess that depends on material delay... And theres no way to tell that

Mine was ordered in February, when I checked last week it was scheduled for production June 16th and delivery to the dealer July 10th. Since yesterday it doesn’t show a date anymore…

Same here. Definitely not confidence inspiring. If what is taking place with bronco orders, this could get ugly.

Just checked mine about 10 minutes ago and it says the site is in " system error " check back later with no date. Looks like mustangs orders are going to experience massive delays just like 2021 F 150's and the new Bronco's. The new Bronco orders have become a complete disaster. I may cancel my order until next year. I really have no interest in getting the GT 500 in September knowing that in 45 days from Labor Day weekend the season for sports cars is over where I live. No sense tying up $ 100,000.00 to park in the garage for 7 months.

Just Finally got thru on the site. Response = " Estimated dealer delivery date not available" . Going from bad to worse. I can see this being a fall delivery, which is ok if you live on the west coast or southern climate, but not good for people on the east coast.

Anybody think deliveries could get pushed up ?

This has everything to do with material shortage like computer components ect. Ford can't give accurate dates because they probably haven't. I feel for you guys. I went through a covid car, but I atleast knew "hey ford is closed for 2 months, then got an actual time line". I feel bad for you guys.
Hang in there, the car is well worth it

Thank you very much and I agree with everything you just said. I would not have ordered the CFTP if I did not think it was worth it and love the GT 500, but I just can't justify tying up $ 100,000.00 using it for 45 days, then parking it for 6 months. The other thing that worries me is the likely hood of production quality control issues with these cars and trucks once they get the chips in stock because Ford is trying to get caught back up. I actually am starting to think a 2022 GT 500 would be wiser.

Did you have any quality build issues at all with your covid car ?

Or I meant to say build quality issues.
Only issues I had was the trunk alignment. everything else was just fine...Well, there was one other issue. I had a broken interior panel that they caught at the factory, they sent my car out to the lot to wait for the part in POO status ( part on order). Funny enough, a bird shit on my freshly painted car which I have pictures of and it baked into the hood. Had to buff that out

thank you for your honesty. That is exactly what I am afraid of, build quality issues because they are falling way behind due to the chip shortage. I personally have no tolerance for incompetence when I’m writing a check for $ 100,000.00. Leaving a $ 100,000.00 sitting out in a parking lot waiting for a part is criminal !

I would see if you can find out exactly where it's sitting. It could be in storage building. I remember someone talking about there being one for other cars a few years back

I am in the same exact boat as you are. I live in Maine also. Short season. What is very frustrating is I ordered my 500 super early and some dealerships placed ordered much later, yet got the cars already, only to be trying to sell for beaucoup ADM. Real special orders, for actual people, should be priority. Such Bullshit! My time and years with FORD may be coming to an end shortly. I am very close to changing brands for good!
