Like most here, I'd be onboard if they called it anything other than a Mustang. Ford's marketing dept needs to be sacked. Maybe being over dramatic, but it feels like this e-stang devalues our current cars.

When I was car shopping a year ago, it was down to my '19 Mustang and an Audi A5. The sound of the V8, the icon of the Mustang badge and styling were why I chose Ford. I think I will be buying German next time around. GG Ford... GG.

-to note, I get the current "family of Mustangs" will be available to come, however, when I say to someone I drive a Mustang, I don't want them to think I drive a SUV.

About the only thing good about this release is now I'm seeing Mustang GT's in ads with it and they look and sound awesome. I saw a new ad last night and was drooling over the real Mustangs in it.

I keep hearing Tesla analogies, does anyone else realize Tesla, as a company, has yet to make a profit? And you want Ford to follow that business model with your stupid examples? It's bad when Russian TV is now talking about America's prominence in the car market in past tense... Mustang...a once uniquely American, iconic brand is now being watered down by a once proud company who used to be all about quality and now seems pretty nearsighted and willing to throw it all away for trendy technology most of us don't want.

Honestly, the less technology in a car, the better. And that's coming from someone who works with computers all day. People are way too distracted doing things they shouldn't instead of concentrating on the road. Yes, all these computer aids like lane keep assist help people, but they also handicap people. You shouldn't fully rely on technology, EVER! Because we are the ones that program it! We don't need more technology to distract people.

Simple knobs have worked just fine for a long long time now. Much cheaper to replace than having a large tablet in the car and much less prone to issues.
I certainly do not disagree with you although I really do like my LCD dashboard. That said it’s a moot point. We all know the direction automotive electronics are going and it’s going to be more, not less.

I would never buy a car made in Mexico. I did buy a 2018 Tacoma and did not know it was made in Mexico. Sold it in one month. Only Tremec trans and Tequila would I buy something made in Mexico. Now I am glad this Macho-E is made in Mexico along with VW Bugs, junk that no one wants.

I went to sign the petition then realized something....Ford doesn't care about what we think! Its obvious, they are now catering to the left coast crowd, wouldn't shock me if Ford starts spending money on global warming ads now too. This is what happens when a leftist agenda meets millenials in charge of a major company and they decide to ruin the brand in front of the eyes of millions of die hard fans. Bye Bye Ford...you lost me for good over this one. Enjoy that future where nobody buys your poor quality crap, that future where you build all your cars in Mexico and China like we know you really want to do.

They allready claim a 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds
No stock GT mustang does that
Only the gt500 that has 760hp
The 3.5 0-60 is the GT Performance Pack option that won't be available until Spring of 2021 I read this morning. What's that going to cost, probably $70K plus?

If you own a large screen LCD/LED TV check to see if was made. Also a landline telephone. Pretty good chance they were assembled in Mexico. Mexico is no different than any other country. Personally I’d rather see goods being made in Mexico vs. China or Southeast Asia.

Yes, but you can always keep your current vehicle or drive an older vehicle to keep away from increasing tech. Driving my '96 Jeep is a breath of fresh air because it has knobs for everything and a simple radio. The thing doesn't even have ABS lol.

I agree the new Mustang digital dash looks beautiful, but staring at another screen after having to stare at screens all day at work is the last thing I want to do.

I agree, the giant tablet Tesla like screens in cars looks terrible. I am not some geezer anti-tech, but it is easier and safer to have tactile controls with buttons for most basic functions. I like how my '18 Mustang GT Premium does it, all controls can be done with the decent size screen, but it also has the ability to control the HVAC and basic radio features with real buttons, which is a great plus.

"It's a Mustang for the whole family" (picture mom+dad+2kids+dog) is one tack I guess. I still think the Marketing people need to be sacked. Publicly.

Maybe 'Taurus E' brings too much baggage but surely there was another horse metaphor they could have resorted to... You know "my little pony", "rocking horse", "gelding" (castraded male horse), "colt", or "filly".

Or if they are stuck on the whole Mach thing, I present to you the Ford MachinE (cue music video)

Thunderbolt would have been a far better name.

Historical Ford connection, plus the electric angle.

I guess for some folks, that's all it takes as long as there's enough power available to cope with CUV-ish size and SUV-ish weight. Doesn't help the other driving dynamics, though.
