Save 55 years of Mustang Heritage.
The Mach-E looks to be a great product! BUT naming any SUV a Mustang is wrong.

“Putting the name Mustang on an all-wheel-drive, four-door crossover is insulting to the Mustang clubs and Mustang enthusiasts who’ve supported this product for more than five decades. I’m imploring Ford to hear our voices and respect Mustang heritage and not bastardize it this way.”

The product looks promising. Just name it anything but Mustang.

Calling any SUV a Mustang will dilute 55 years of heritage and damage the Mustang image & brand.

What if we tell them the truth? The truth that we identify as a Mustang muscle car, and are offended that this E-SUV is using the pony badge as cultural appropriation for it's own selfish gains.

A petition was started here on the site last Sunday after the Mach E announcement. Frankly, it's a waste of time. Several articles state that Ford locked in the Mustang name for the Mach E a year ago. It's not going to change and as of yesterday at the LA Auto Show, Ford announced there will be a Shelby Mach E.

Actually today’s Mustang exists only because Ford continues to build a car that is only 3.3% of its overall sales.

What if we were given the choice. Build an electric CUV named Mustang or have our Mustang cancelled? I believe that could have happened.

Don, that’s OK. Honestly you really are too young to “get” it. Mustang is more than a name, it is a culture.

I hope that there is something in your future that you fall in love with and never want to change. Then it does. At that point you will “get” it.
