New hood vents. I love them what do you think?

Hi Guy. I have Airdesign scoops coming soon. Yours inspired me. I too am thinking of painting myself. Did the plastic need any special prep. Local auto shops can mix up aerosol cans of paint. Is that the way to go. Did you finish with a clear coat. Thanks for any help that you can send my way.

Added a fancy LED smoked reverse/brake/tail light, looks even better in person. They sent the one for a 15-17, but I wasn't about to let that stop me. I cut off the mounting tabs and made new ones out of stainless steel. Also changed out the original diff fluid for BG Ultra 75-140. Luckily they warn you in the included instructions that you will have metal on the fill and drain magnets, otherwise I would have had a stroke on the garage floor. I'm at under 13k and that fluid was spent! If you haven't changed it, do it. I also noticed within the first few minutes that the diff was MUCH quieter and smoother. Easy job, fast job and highly recommended!

Haha what a coincidence. I’m just wrapping up the install of the fourth brake light on mine. Looks exactly the same as yours actually. What brand did you go for?

Well, i went with an "unbranded" eBay special. Had some credit I needed to spend there. Looks identical to the MMD unit, in fact I used their install instructions. Sucks that they sent me the wrong one, but that's what I get. All worked out, gave me an excuse to be in the garage longer. Even with an les bulb and tint the stock unit looked outdated and mismatched with the awesome taillights, much happier now. How about you?

Edit: it's like the MD Concepts unit

Same actually. For half the price of the raxiom one i figured i would give it a try. I think they’re more than likely all made in the same factory. Mine came in a box covered in Chinese writing with the brand being XGODY. Hopefully it lasts at least 2-3 years. I was extra careful and made sure to seal up the screw and where the wiring comes out to avoid any moisture buildup inside the light.

One question though mine came with a blue wire to flash when brakes were activated but after testing it on 12v it seemed to just flash the whole time so sitting at a red light it would just be flashing the whole time. Do you know if yours was the same way or did it do a short flash and stop when the brake lights were pressed? I just left my blue wire off for the time being

Edit: I see you are asking if it continues flashing the whole time the brake is pressed, I'll check.

Good idea in the sealing of the housing, I think I'll dab some sealant on there today. My red led comes in with the lights, it flashes with brake application. Geen and purple to red, red and yellow to blue.

After that, fitted my Trackspec Louvers to my spare 2017 non-vented hood....I might consider doing the Center-vent later too....will fit it after my return from Asia in a few weeks, no rush, still need to clean up things a bit before final fitting of the Louvers.
