Where did I say that you said 'Ford intends to allocate more than ~1250 Golden Tickets for the CFTP option for the 2020MY'

You said that Ford committed to building ~1250 CFTP cars for the 2020 launch year. If 300 people wanted only the Painted Stripes, which require a Golden Ticket, would this not affect the number of Golden Tickets available for the CFTP car?
Absolutely not and have no idea where you came up this idea.

The Golden Ticket is for the CFTP option and also for the Painted Stripe Option if they chose to go with that second option for their GT500.

If you are suggesting that you can order a Base GT500 with the Painted Stripe option based on a Golden Ticket allocation that is certainly not my understanding.

As explained to me the Golden Ticket allocation is for the CFTP option and if someone chooses to add on Painted OTT Stripes that would also be available but not mandatory with the Golden Ticket allocation being centered around the 2 seat car and not a 4 seat car at least that is the way it was explained to me.

"The Golden Ticket is defined as both Carbon Fiber Track Package and Painted Over the Top Racing Stripes." "The dealer is not obligated to take both features." It doesn't say, The dealer is not obligated to take the Painted Over the Top Racing Stripes.

How would you describe the intent of the last sentence? It looks to me like the decision to go with both or only one of the options is left up to the dealer.

Has anyone had any luck ordering just the Painted Stripes?

Show me whereby someone has ordered Painted OTT Stripes on a Base GT500 and I will certainly stand corrected.

And the reason they may not get them is the dealer was told that he did not have a Golden Ticket. The only way to order the Painted Strips is to check it off as an option when your dealer places the order. The fact the system didn't immediately reject the order is because the system doesn't look for an allocation, it only checks to see if the order can be built as ordered. If the CFTP was required in order to select the Painted Stripes, the system would have rejected the order as soon as it was placed.

I have seen this happen in 2012 when I ordered my 2013, the order guide didn't offer the side stripes if you checked the strip delete option, but when I placed my order the salesman asked me if I wanted the side stripes without the OTT stripes and I said yes. The option was listed on his screen and he selected it and as soon as he hit the submit button, the system rejected the order. Once the Side Stripes was removed from the order, the order was accepted into the sales bank and the salesman was able to print out the VOC. The system would not allow the dealer to order a car that could not be built.

Try ordering a Oxford White (YZ) GT500 with Bright White (85Q) Vinyl OTT Racing Stripes (47S), chances are the salesman won't even have the option..

The so called golden ticket is for the CFTP and/or the painted on stripes. If you were getting either/or or both it would require a golden ticket (I hate that term).

So you could get the car without the CFTP and still get the painted stripes, but who would do that because it would require an allocation eligible for both.

even if a dealer does NOT have an allocation for a 350R or a GT500 CFTP, they can still order them and not get regected.... they just sit in the system until the end of the MY, and dont get built without allocation.

Where did I suggest whereby Ford intends to allocate more than ~1250 Golden Tickets for the CFTP option for the 2020MY?

And yes it is my understanding the Ford will continue to issue Golden Tickets throughout the MY until they hit the ~1250 allocation number.

I thought my post was pretty straight forward but am I missing something?
Do you have information that not all of the 1250 units are "allocated" (an allocation defined as a car that a dealer has been notified they have the right to sell)? I think the was you've worded it previously, it sounded like you were suggesting that no dealers can promise you a CFTP because upper Ford management is going to determine (has yet to determine) what dealers get CFTP.

So if say (for example)..dealers have been notified that they have allocations for 1000 cars, then yes, there will be some number (250 in this example) of cars that have not been assigned to dealers.. But again, we are talking about two different things. Unassigned allocations over whatever has already been assigned....and then the process where already ordered cars get put into production (the order of which).

People, this Ford we are talking about. They will make as many CFTP/Painted Stripes Golden Ticket blah blah blah cars as they possibly can. The 1250 number is just an estimate, that's it. If the car is selling and they can source all the parts and can schedule the paint time, they will make as many as possible.

We couldnt get a CFTP.... so we begged the regional rep to please approve painted stripes on a base model to have something rare. Who would do such a thing? smile. Nope , not going to happen. I did try to do it. I was like, it doesnt take any rare parts. It's only paint. NOPE. smile. PLEASE.....NOPE, sigh. I'm still on a CFTP list at a different dealer with a slim chance.

Jeff, it is my understanding that the Golden Ticket allocation is strictly for a 2 seat CFTP option (67J) GT500 and that the OTT Painted Stripe option (47W) can be either be added to the CFTP optioned car or not added at all.

It is also my understanding that a Golden Ticket allocation cannot be used just for the OTT Painted option and then added to a Base model GT500 but as I previously stated I stand to be corrected by people much smarter and more in the know than me.

Having said that and if I am wrong about anyone being able to add OTT Painted Stripes to a Base GT500 I would suggest that those of us who have already ordered a CFTP car we should be all for this as this would result in reduced production numbers for the CFTP cars.:clap:

With respect to the ~1250 Golden Ticket allocations it is my understanding that Dearborn has obviously already awarded some of the 1250 allocations to certain dealerships in both the U.S. and Canada and whatever number of allocations that have not already been assigned to various dealerships in the U.S. and Canada will be allocated throughout the rest of the MY and no different than what has been done for limited production 2 seat Mustangs from recent years.

Going back to the limited production 2012 Boss 302 LS cars that launched in the first week of February in 2011 Ford did not allocate all 787 cars to Ford dealerships up front but awarded those allocations throughout the MY and that was also the case for the GT350R models starting during the Fall of 2015 for the 2016MY and subsequent MY's.

If you recall a dealership that is right in your backyard was allocated 3 Base R models very late in the 2018 MY with all 3 cars having consecutive VIN numbers and these 3 R's were all built just before Ford ceased final production for the Base R models as of April 30th, 2018.

At the end of the day I may have this all wrong and if so I stand corrected and apologize for any misunderstandings and like you I will be interested to see how this all plays out.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:
