First oil change today. What a PITA. I now have to go buy a new a floor jack, as my current 3 ton jack is a 1/4" too tall. Did manage to use the jack from my son's Fusion though.

And who in the hell designed the oil filter location. No way to get that out without making a mess. I tried the tin foil funnel/chute with limited success.

Oh well, that's all done. Now for another cold

Drive the car onto a couple of short 2x6 in the front. We just did this to get my car onto an older style lift with 6" min height arms

Did you drop the crossmember to do the install?
Yes, very simple. 4 bolts hold the transmission cross member support to the frame and 2 bolts hold the transmission to the cross member.
Once the car was up in the air we used a floor jack and a 4x4 post to hold the tranny up. Undid the 6 bolts mentioned and sprayed a little WD40 type lube on the bushing...
Then the bushing slid in by hand... replace the cross member and DRIVE. Like I said easy peasy. About 10 minutes work with a 1/2 " electric impact :sunglasses:

Went to a morning coffee event on Saturday at HMS Motorsport, who just so happen to be the North American importer for Schroth.

Was looking at these a few weeks back and the 15% off incentive was just the thing to pull the trigger!!

Looks good. Rumor is the fender well bolts are a pain. Besides that, what should I know?
The kit I bought requires that you use a dremel to cut out the OEM grill insert, and then glue the new one in place. You've got to be extremely patient when cutting and sanding. I rushed towards the end and ended up lightly scratching the gloss black outer grill insert. Make sure you've got either got a high quality dremel cutoff wheel, or multiple cheap ones. I went through 3 total.

Now that's different, I like it but it's attached by 3M tape so not easily removable and it would be a pain to clean the rear glass with all the calcium in the water where I live.
