Yes, its not faster. It's quite good though.Have you tried a 10r80 tuned or in drag mode?

I am pretty sure the 15+ autos have paddle shifters too, not sure about before that.
Engineering explained made a video about the ZF 8 speed vs dual clutch and why he likes it more than most dual clutch transmissions. I wonder if he has tried a 10 speed in anything yet.
Well, people had to know that gm means Gigantic MistakeIirc thats what the Hellpigs use too isnt it?
Too bad GMs 8 speed is garbage too Camaro and Corvette owners just opened a class action lawsuite against GM on their 8 speeds too LOL.

The 10-speed in all ZL1s and MY19+ SS models is a flavor of the co-dev'ed Ford 10-speed, it's pretty terrific, and I see today GM just announced - in addition to a redesign of the SS, and new LT1 model, the A10 is going into the V6.Too bad GMs 8 speed is garbage too Camaro and Corvette owners just opened a class action lawsuite against GM on their 8 speeds too LOL.

The A10 didnt exist during the model years the class action lawsuit covers. The 10-speed in all ZL1s and MY19+ SS models is a flavor of the co-dev'ed Ford 10-speed, it's pretty terrific, and I see today GM just announced - in addition to a redesign of the SS, and new LT1 model, the A10 is going into the V6.
Funny, the Vette got the shaft!
My buddy just sold his 18 f150 3.5 ecoboost due to the 10 speed. He claims he absolutely hated the 10 speed. He says its clunky and constantly hunts for gears. However I've driven the new 5.0 mustang before deciding to make the purchase on a gt500 and thought the 10 speed was great maybe I just haven't driven one long enough. Not sure how it compares to GMs 8 speed either.Well, people had to know that gm means Gigantic Mistake![]()
OK, first, take a deep breath, relax. I've noticed people are all wound up in the GT500 area ...The A10 didnt exist during the model years the class action lawsuit covers.
Yes the A10 is in the 4cylinder ecoboosts was joint developed with Ford. Thus I doubt GM will have to worry about any lawsuits with the A10 LOL.........
I dont know what you mean Vette got the shaft itll be mid engine with the same 7 speed dct the GT500 has once the C8 comes out.
To be honest I think I would hate the 10 speed too if I didnt paddle shift for like 95% of my driving. Slowly rolling into the accelerator without paddle downshifting shifting and it will downshift like 4 times. Paddle shifting it is fun though once you learn it and I think its amazing overall once you learn it.My buddy just sold his 18 f150 3.5 ecoboost due to the 10 speed. I wasn't rendering a comment on the 8-speed, only that GM had course corrected with the new 10-speed. re: Vette getting the shaft, I meant in the context of the C7, where it never got the A10 (vs. the craptacular A8).
I have an RS4 and I found the 10R80 to be alittle faster in its shifts than the ZF.I have the ZF8 in my Audi RS5. It is quite a bit faster shifting up snd down, than the 10R80.
You paddle the 10 speed? How have you made that practical? I paddle shifted nearly 100% of the time when I had my VW GTI (DSG/DCT), but I've not been able to manage the 10auto.To be honest I think I would hate the 10 speed too if I didnt paddle shift for like 95% of my driving. Just need to shift when you want to. Alot easier than shifting in a manual car where you have to clutch in and take your right hand off the steering wheel (Had 2 manual mustangs before this one, and a manual CTS-V), so a few extra gears with paddles is easy. Downshifting does take some anticipation though but you know if you want to be in a higher or lower gear. Most of the time its just shifting up through the gears then it automatically downshifts when you come to a stop or slow down too much. If you arent driving for fun then its fine to just leave it in drive. Also maybe I havent given my transmission enough time to learn in the auto shifting modes- it will always just do one thing I didnt want, or not do something when I want it to because what I am wanting to do is nothing that can be anticipated because there are no inputs I want to give other than the shifts(like downshifting and slowing before corners without using brakes). Also my car is tuned and my rev limiter is 8200 so I never hit that while paddle shifting. Shifting at around 7500 feels best. Paddles and drag mode work fine for me for rolling burnouts too just break the tires loose on the 1-2 shift basically anywhere around 20-30 mph then hold the RPMS at 7500 until you hit like 60 mph, or go too sideways lol.You paddle the 10 speed? I do a lot of shifting even in normal driving, and I can't imagine having to shift every time the revs increased or decreased by 500 or fewer rpm. Adjacent gear ratio spacing much closer than about 25% (i.e. 1.56 to 1.25 or 1.25 to 1.00) is already keeping you kind of busy in any driving short of being out on the track.Just need to shift when you want to. My preference is definitely to paddle shift, but I just wish it was a 6 speed configuration.Just need to shift when you want to. My normal driving mode is shifter in S position with paddles activated, tcs off but stability control still on, steering wheel comfort mode.
