Car just got smashed at the shop, need help please

They arent cheap but ive used these guys to replace a rear 1/4 panel for an 08' Si Coupe. They charged me $3k. Located in Aurora north of GTA. Flawless job.

So the cool police officer got all the insurance information from the driver. The management from the towing company decided to give up their fleet insurance, but the company their with, is STINGY from personal experience.

Now it's all about where I go to get it fixed.

The quarter panel alone is a $1,400 US part. They need to remove your rear quarter glass and rear window to remove it. That's gonna be a $5k job minimum.

My car's currently getting it's inner and outer quarter panels replaced as we speak. Over 2 months in the shop now....already forgot what it is like to drive it.

File the police report and go through insurance with the work being done by a different shop.

My girlfriend went through this when her old Santa Fe was at a local shop.

A supposed out of state tow truck driver hit it and the shop took the insurance money and rattle canned it.

Horrible is an understatement.

Anyone have experience with 427 auto collision? Huge shop with a lot of employees, does work for dealerships etc..

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out if I should put a quad exhaust and a gt350 rear bumper conversion with carbon fiber diffuser.

For the front I'm keeping it stock I think, time to do some research.

If you’re in the west end, we have had our Rogue rear ended twice and fixed both times at CarStar on Taber Road. We went with them as they were Western’s preferred shop and we have friends who had used them and were happy. Another good shop is Auto King Collision (Lou Nifo used to run the shop but he may be retired now) on Advance, down near Kipling subway station.

I would suggest filing a diminished value claim against their insurance as well. I've done this on 2 separate occasions and have received checks for $6,500 on a 2013 sonata with $14,000 in damage( was T-boned but not enough to total) and $2,200 on a 2016 tuscon with $4,800 in damage ( service van side swiped my wires SUV while pulling into neighbors driveway). These diminished value claims were in addition to them paying to repair the cars.

I actually used the diminished value from my sonata to pay it off early and then proceeded to trade it in as down payment for my current stang.

This might take some litigation to get done right.

I haven’t read the other replies but no, no, no Bondo!!! Have it done right. No cutting corners. I’d have a different shop do the work. Based on what you wrote, I don’t have a good feeling about them.

Not only what everyone else said, but you should find the shop that repairs all the high end cars in Toronto. They will do the job once, for the same price, and it will be perfect. Accept nothing less.
