Cool Story .
My only question would be . How does DIB turn into Purple ?
Now Ruby Red I could imagine being called Purple , but Deep Impact Blue ..

Oh well I like Race Red now ......
DIB is very purple, too purple for me but many like it. Ruby? Ruby is a deep red with no blue in it at all. Definitely not purple.

First off, let me say that I'm not one that has ever named my cars. I'm just not into putting names onto cars since the manufacturer already did it for me. But I had the county building inspector come by to do an inspection on my new gas lines. Just to give you a visual, he was a 60 something black guy wearing a ball cap and suspenders. Kind of reminded me of my dad at that age. We'll, other than him being a black guy. First thing out of his mouth was "Who's purple monster is that in the driveway?"
I confessed it was mine and told him if he likes Mustangs I'll take him into the garage before he leaves. Quick check of the gas line work, and off to the driveway and garage we went. He went nuts over the '15. Took him in the garage and showed him my '66 GT Fastback. You could see the look on his face he just got taken back in time. Come to find out, he was an old gearhead from way back that owned an old GTX with a 440.
'66 has been sitting since April because I've been very busy with the kitchen remodel, but he asked me if he could hear it run. After sitting 4 months, it fired right up :headbang:
I think I made his day, and I know he made mine since I passed the inspection and I can now call my '15 "The Purple Monster"!
Haaa, nice.
I usually don't name my cars, either. My coworker actually inadvertently named mine, after I described how it "talks".:p

mine is called Ruby beecause on its color. I tell people she is my mistress and that I can take my wife and my mistress to the same place and not get into trouble!

I always name my cars old Hollywood names.. Named my EB Marlene.
Well as mine is Shadow Black, thought of Black Beauty, English TV series about an horse
then Steph said Black Pearl, from Pirates
and after having watched the Matrix thinking of "The One" as it's such a Cool film, and Black is the main colour of the film

think it's between Pearl and The One
anyone know where i can get some Show Plates made up, as would be cool for the car shows

I usually don't name my cars either but my wife likes to. My first "89 GT was just called Pony but my new one has been named "The Beast". At first I didn't care for it but the name sorta grows on ya', especially since the car is a beast! :D:D:D

I don't name my cars, but my first LX 5.0 came to have a name when my then-small sons started calling it "the Zoom Car"!

I've named almost all of my cars! (and I've had a lot!)
My Javelin is "Fluffy"
Hornet is "Daisy"
Gremlin is simply "The Gremlin" as it needs no introduction.
Tiburon is "Sydney" ("THEY CALL ME MR. TIBBS!")
Shelby Daytona is "Scarlet"

My Blue Hornet hatch that I sold was named "Suzie" after the 1952 Disney short "Suzie the Little Blue Coupe".

If I ever acquire a purple/4 speed Javelin AMX, I will name it "Tuffy" so I'll have Fluffy & Tuffy.

Yes, I'm a strange fella!

I still have no idea what I'm naming my GT. We sort of call it the "Doukhobour Pony" as it is the cheapest GT you can buy - absolutely zero options. But you'd have to be a local to understand the Doukhobour reference so that doesn't exactly work.
