Car just got smashed at the shop, need help please

My cars in a body shop and a driver for a big towing company just smashed my rear quarter panel and ripped off my bumper (he wasn't there to tow me).

Driver admits fault and agrees to repair the damage. He's looking at around $2200 cad.
It looks worse in person.

Bring my car back home and make a police report?

Let the driver pay to have it repaired aka with shit tons of Bondo?... The shop I'm at now has way under qualified immigrant students getting paid cash. It's a joke to them, swear one thought it was funny... know what I have to do as I'm writing this.i think.

The car was at the shop for a new front bumper and I was getting the hood painted too.

I'm thinking my shop should paint the whole car for free? He was gonna charge me 2k for a complete paint job.

My shop is scared their insurance will be at fault so he's agreeing to fix it (he just got more business from his negligence)
I'm still trying to contact the driver to figure out exactly what happened and where the car was position by my shop.

How bad is the damage guys ?

The guys have been working around the car it seems and it's covered with a lot of Bondo dust... I'm thinking the car needs a paint job regardless. Isn't this and possibly where they parked my car, negligence on the part of the shop?
But the driver took full responsibility and now the driver found a used bumper at a wrecker....saving 450 from oem.
Can the rear quarter panel even be replaced?

Also make the shop/tow truck company file an insurance claim and do it right. Otherwise it will bite you in the ass.

You're looking at a new rear bumper cover and almost certainly a new quarter panel. I would NOT allow someone to fix all of that with bondo.

They need to pull it out as far as possible with the frame machine, cut the quarter off and line everything back up.

yeh thats more than $2200 CAD of damage. no way they fix it right for that. I would call the cops...file a report and get it done right. And yeh same as above no fk'in way they do bondo .....

Agreed way over 2200 I'd say. If it were me I would want another shop elsewhere to fix the car. I suspect the tow company and body shop are possibly in cohoots feeding each other business back and forth. I would file a report and notify your insurance and let them chase them down for any and all costs. its what you pay them for every year. Forgot to say sorry man that is awful that this happened to you. I would be sick if it were mine.

No way that is 2200 can. First they need to CUT that entire section off. Ask me how I know..You cannot pull it out. Bondo ??? seriously ??? Bloody Hell NO. I would be on the phone with insurance right now. You let them cheap you on the fix, you will regret it. Also you can forget about ever selling it for a decent price.

+100 with all of above, run far far away from this shop and have it fixed the right way. diffidently get an insurance claim and police report to back it up!!!! I would not have even moved the car without the cops involved, sounds like a scam

Call the police and your insurance. Get it repaired at the insurance companies recommended shop. F those guys....
