This is why I will state ad nauseum that if you don't plan on any track time ever, the GT350 is a poor spend of money. I have seat time with them on road and track and they truly come alive and make it all worth it on track. My best friend (who really liked his GT350, but didn't love it for the first half or so year of ownership) he and I road tripped down to Austin to go to COTA and after that track day he loved it. This is someone with many track days under his belt so it's not just that. That car was built to do it.
I agree, for me as a daily driver in traffic, a GT suited me best but if I were buying a weekend/track car I would have been more enticed to buy. I still drool at them though!

Coming from a 991 911, 12 R8, and 17 Roush stage 2, I’m completely happy with the 350 I picked up. Today, I saw the trip meter from the original owner. 7109 miles, 18.3mpg. This is not a 350 that was driven hard, or the historical cumulative mpg would be like 9mpg. I’m glad to see this.

The ride with the mag shocks is better than the roush stage 2 upgraded suspension and brakes, and similar to the R8.

I typically run in comfort mode for the mag shocks and my car doesn’t behave like the OP’s report of road manners. So far, around town and on the road, the 350 is composed. Only slight trammeling near stoplights, and very compliant when correcting.

It’s different than the 911 and R8 because the front is way heavier, but steering is quick and precise, with good road feel. Not at good as the R8 or Porsche, but honestly, my R8 was 150k + tax, and 911, 110k+ tax. GT350 was 49k + tax so that makes it easily the best bang for the buck and more satisfying. I’ll definitely buy the $2400.00 7/60 premium ford esp in a few months. I have just under 2 years of factory warranty left.

If your 350’s behave like mine, I don’t see why anyone would find a reason to go GT PP, since my car was literally 7k more than a GT.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Your used gt350 is 7k more than a used PP GT or 7k more than a new PP GT? Can't compare new vs used cars.

Recaro's aren't for everyone. 38" waist and about 250lbs is max for them I feel.

For anyone else reading this who may be concerned about daily drivability of the GT350, your experience may vary. My GT350 was a bit all over the road, but by raising the tire pressure to a cold base of 35, installing the Steeda G-Trac brace, and getting an alignment, almost all of the nervousness is gone. Even with lowering springs it's docile enough for me to daily it 40 miles round trip in Atlanta traffic during days when the weather is good.

Anyway, I fully understand the seats thing btw. They're perfect...if they're perfect for you. Several owners have switched out their seats or have gone with different packages due to not fitting into them.

Every time I think about looking into a 350 again, I run across more terrifying threads on engine issues.

The FB group is really bad....
Can you post a link to the FB group?

Of course you can, you can compare anything you want. I compared new gt vs used GT350 and for about 7k difference I found more value in the 350.

You would think every Mustang has a blown engine on here as well so...
Yep. According to the internet my engine should have blown up 17,000 miles ago. I have 17,200 on the clock. I autocrossed my GT350 at 200 miles. And I don't consume excessive amounts of oil.

This is why I want to drive another one. There is no way with the glowing reviews this car has garnered that what I experienced was normal.
Yet you started a thread, not in one of the GT350 sections, making negative generalizations.

I'll be happy to start a thread in the 350 section. There were no generalizations in my assertions, I made direct comments attempting to understand if the observed driving characteristics were normal for the car. Nothing more.

If the car had SC2's its completely normal. I went from 305's all around on my PP2, to 305f/325r PS4's and the tramlining is gone. So yes, you may have driven cars with wide tires, but I highly doubt any of them were SC2's

Agreed, definitely not SC2's.

I think for me the issue was tramlining (expected and accustomed to this) as well as the suspension being so tight that the car felt like it was bouncing down the road. I've experienced the same feeling when I rode in a Honda Civic with cut springs.
