I paid $1695 for my ceramic coating with a lifetime warranty. It included color correction and 4 coats of Ceramic Pro Platinum 9H on all of the body, wheels and calipers. That also included a full interior detail and dressing.

It was the cheapest I found around me that offered all the areas I wanted covered and lifetime warranty..... I had it done in the SF bay area, when the car had500 miles, which is probably one of the most expensive places for anything.

Did you use a polisher for the compound or hand applied it? Asking since tools and pads not included in your list.
I did all the polishing by hand. I bought a cheap electric polisher from Walmart but did not use it, scared of swirls.
I will do smaller areas at a time next time. I found by trial and error not to let the coating start setting up before rubbing it out.

I respect your patience in completing it by hand haha.

For a lifetime warranty, that is actually a very fair price imo.

Doing ceramic myself with good products costs +$300 alone between pre-soak soaps, iron remover, clay, clay lube, oil cleaners, proper polish, proper pads, single use MF for ceramic and then the ceramic itself.

Took me two full, and I mean full +15h days. Shops have overhead, insurance, warranty costs etc, and trying to make a profit. I’d be hesitant at $500, as I can see where a business needs to charge +$1,000 easily. That said, a new shop may be trying to build client base and experience and offering great deals for the customer word of mouth.

Man I should start a shop in your neck of the woods. A guy I trust near me is about $400 for IGL Quartz and $600 for Kenzo, plus about $400 for correction.
He's cutting corners.

Or, he likes working for peanuts.

Either way... IGL would probably yank his installer status if they knew he was doing it for that.

Newb question here, but what are the benefits of ceramic coating vs a paint protection film?

Unless the detailer is a 97 year old chain smoker.

Just because there's a lower price doesn't mean they cut corners, its one of the most established shops in my area with plenty of show car customers. Honestly it sounds like you got ripped off considering multiple quotes I've received for a 3 year warranty never went over $1k.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I thought he was saying that how much he charges to do it, not how much he paid someone else to do it.

As I’ve mentioned in many other posts before... do it yourself! Buy a good DA polisher and all the products (I use Car Pro Cquartz TiO2 Pro... 2 coats! It took me about 25 hrs over 3 days. It truly is amazing stuff!! No waxing for 4-5yrs!!!!

25 hours and 3 days. Telling you that your Bullitt looks insane is the understatement of the year. By the way you forgot to mention the amount of talent it took to make your car look that good. We both know its really not that easy

Thanx Bikeman.. I kinda do little things..other than the wheels! The Purists were on me at first..but then a few turned out to be fence sitters...then they started mods!! lol it does take time to Ceramic Coat but really...it’s all in the prep, hence the time. Many hrs but leisure hours listening to tunes and having garage beers!! Easy stuff with the polisher and my stool for the sides!! Just make sure it’s clean, clean before you do the ceramic.
Thanx again, appreciate it.

700 from a local guy here for croftgate. No paint correction was needed, car was brand new.

You got screwed.

A - Croftgate is junk.

B - guarantee that the prep was improper, if there was any prep at all...
