While we are at it.

The fact that the F150 is going to have an electric/hybrid engine option, again does not bode well for the Coyote. And I still think a destroked Godzilla would fit into the line up still giving us a V8 option.

I know it sucks to think about things this way but change is happening at Ford. Not delicate skillful cuts but entire lines of vehicles are disappearing in North America. The engine lineup will be overhauled and the Coyote already looks like it’s neck is in the guillotine. Through this perspective you will now understand Ford’s reticence to speak about problems with the Coyote. If it will soon be gone, just stall and delay; no retooling required. There will be no new castings made to fix any problems. The thing could go “poof” as soon as Godzilla production is spitting out engines.

But who knows, all I know is that to stick your heads in the sand and pretend something does not exist - does not work...

I do believe you're an imbecile.
You really need to start watching the spy shots of the F-150.
The last one I saw looked like a spindle nut was in place of a bearing cap.
Leaf springs were absent too........

But thanks for the compliment......

Doesn't make any sense for Ford to offer three different engine families.
The Coyote can only really serve the Mustang and is viewed that way by the public.
The 6.2 no longer serves a purpose........
The 7.3 has what it takes to power the F Series and the S550.

I don't even want to talk about electric hybrids.

Let’s keep things gentlemanly. I always feel responsible for this stuff as I come out and say anything goes and I have skin like a crocodile - but forget this has a carry over effect to others. Always those others dammit!

Well it’s there and bootlegger brought up this reality yesterday and he works for the man... So they ain’t going to keep all the engines around.

This isn’t rocket science.

By the way, the destroked Godzilla wasn’t my idea. That belongs to Norm. This guy rocks but he’s too much of a gentleman to shove his expertise in your face...

I just feel the Romance will be lost with electric or even electric/gas hybrids.

I really do see Ford trimming their V-8 lineup to one family.

Wonder what the Coyote fans will say then.....?
I like the Coyote, but I like performance more. If Ford puts out a 600hp hybrid Mustang GT, count me in.

I’ll give the guy a point for this statement. The idea that if it is not on the net then it does not exist is wrong and funny at the same time.

The statement to enjoy the sport and people
is cute - but ok.
Many here, myself included, have stated that we haven’t seen a single LS swap into an S550 at the local track events. It’s a lie. It’s not a common thing.

1973 was the last year Ford came anywhere near matching GM in terms of displacement.
Before the internal combustion engine comes to a end.........I would love to see Ford offer
a competitor to the LS.

Well...

That’s one way of dodging a statement that is unpopular around here. Most don’t like me anyway so I guess I get to be the one that spells it out completely... :like:

Just like all other Fords including Mustangs........People favor the ls over anything Ford has to offer once modifying begins.
I hope and pray the 7.3 puts a stop to this ls craze.

Highly doubt that Ford would replace the Coyote with the 7.3L because of CAFE alone - this isn't the 60s where emissions and fuel mileage doesn't matter much.

If the Mustang is going to be the only car manufactured by Ford in the coming years, then they're going to go hybrid with smaller displacement ecoboot type engines and/or full blown electric. That's basically what most of the talk about the Gen 7 Mustang points to. There still might be a NA V8 option or two, but making the 7.3L one of them doesn't make sense for high volume production. Maybe only a special 7.3L V8 variant (maybe even super charged) for the drag strip only Cobra Jet - ?

Time will tell, and by the time this thread hits 1000 pages we should know Ford's true plans.

Hackett is at least 5 to ten years into the future in his decision making. He doesn’t even think about the Coyote in his dreams. That engine is already dead in his mind.

That is what a CEO does...
