Fatguy just needs to put the lowest differential gears he can find in his V6 Mustang ... that will give some more "low end torque" feeling.

Bingo! You win the stuffed animal!

First the C6 Z06 and now this. Buddy you rock!

But yes. Just trick Fatguy but give him the feeling. Many ways to skin that cat!

Good grief. I was able to read about the last 15 pages. Not going to go back further. Kinda like the photo taking threads better seems like they are more enjoyable.

Watching fat guy try to explain away math, physics, and engineering without having the slightest clue about how any of them work is, well, entertaining.

Actually, once upon a time I was getting math to talk about itself and ultimately revealed its limitations. Once upon a time I got the highest score in the hardest undergraduate course at York University. Then I became a truck driver...

You and your like are slaves to math.

That is the difference between you and me.

This is not a value judgement. Just a statement. It takes all sorts of people to make the world go around. No one is better than anyone else. That is usually the basis for true democracy. And how has that worked out so far... :cwl:

Albert Einstein quote. "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution."

Also, going by memory: Einstein and the guy who found the limits to Arithmetic were friends, almost best friends. Also - Einstein is in agreement with limits to math - for want of a better word.

Is the guy who doesn’t understand high school physics seriously comparing himself to Einstein?

Haha...

I never meant that. But I’ll take it as a compliment if that’s how it sorted itself out in your mind. BTW: Einstein made mistakes even with E=MC2. He was a guy like everyone else. He may even have come to my aid asking for Ford to put the 7.3 engine in the Mustang.

Also, every time I hear someone telling me I can’t understand something - it’s more telling than you know. You should be able to dumb down anything to the level of a 4-6 year old because that is where they basically can begin to fully interpret their surroundings as in their feelings and experience. If you can’t, then “you” don’t know what you are talking about... :giggle: Relativity is in the end around us as we go on about our everyday lives.

Why would Norm be offended? You clearly don’t have a clue what you’re talking about so I wouldn’t be offended if I were him.
As an engineer, I can say that math isn't our lives. We use it as a tool to achieve our goals. Most engineers kinda have a love/hate relationship with math. I would also say that most of the top performing engineers in the auto industry are also car fanatics/hobbyists. If you go out in the lot at my workplace on a warm and sunny day, you will see quite the variety of sporty cars (new/old/domestic/foreign). One of our technicians just bought a 65 stang with all matching numbers. We certainly aren't simply conceptually driven.

Now you’re talking...

And to be honest I’m an engineer of sorts myself. So what did I do with my natural aptitude for math? I ended up involved in social engineering (never saw that coming down the pike)... :cwl:

I never said you can't. I said you don't. Stop mis-representing what I say. This is dis-honest and you've done it multiple times.

So what you're saying is that you don't understand high school physics unless I dumb it down to a kindergarten level and that indicates I don't understand it either. Whatever dude....

And to be honest I'm an engineer of sorts myself.
You've posted some real BS before, but I this whopper takes the cake! The ironic part is that your started the lie by stating you were being honest. Haha!

What I’m saying is that “you” (or anyone else for that matter) don’t fully understand something unless you can express it to people who know nothing about it.

If you can then you know your stuff. If you can’t then you don’t. That’s why Professors are usually smart. Same for elementary school teachers that can actually teach.

Honesty here is relating to how I see myself in society as I hide much of that fact here. It’s just a saying. It does not necessarily mean I was lying about something as opposed to not being completely transparent which is true.

Why not call it a draw and move on to another Mustang topic, such as why the stupid mode switch won't toggle backwards.
That is very annoying.

Only those willing to learn can be taught.

Thinking of yourself as an engineer and being an engineer are two different things. You posted that you are an engineer. You are not, even if you think of yourself as one.

No doubt in real life you are perfectly reasonable and pleasant guys.
But this bickering is how wars start, going to bed dreaming up answers, obsessed with another's views and keen to outsmart each other.
Why not call it a draw and move on to another Mustang topic, such as why the stupid mode switch won't toggle backwards.

All of us are reasonable in real life.

For me I don’t see any of this as an cause for concern. It does matter how old you are. The older you get the more polite and reserved the interactions are. The younger they get the more combative they get. It’s been a few years but at those on-line gaming boards it was always this viscous free for all with people constantly getting banned and coming back. Rinse and repeat.

It can be a way of releasing stress to be at your obnoxious self on both sides of an argument. Let’s face it, the work place is becoming so politically correct it can get nauseating. These car forums are the last place guys can be guys without self-censoring themselves. It’s all good!

Skin like a crocodile...

This is sort of like watching a TV series. The more time you have invested in it the more likely you are to stick with it even if it starts to run out of steam. I would say it was starting to wind down last week but the mystery Mustang V8 revived things again. As much as some here don’t want to admit it I am sure some at Ford wanted to give the 7.3 Mustang a go just to see...

They are car guys after all. Even with the official announcements, some group at Ford must be curious to see what it would be like in a Mustang. Hell, if you are going to offer a crate motor, wouldn’t you want to swap the thing into a Mustang to see if it would fit and such? A lot of guys at Ford my age would have more than a passing interest in a 7.3 Stang. So I think there is at least one and more likely a couple of crude test mules out there with the motor. Will it go anywhere? Probably not at Ford but they publicly said to expect to see it in the aftermarket. So even if it’s just a crate motor it is worth the effort to see if it is Mustang friendly. And if we see a strange Mustang sounding like a V8...

Maybe?
