Maybe Matt Farrah is right on that review?!
I was up there yesterday, on some of the same roads and have to echo his feelings. It just doesn't feel like a 670 hp car, 550 to the rear wheels? It's fun to drive, just could be, should be better for the 10k I just spent to have the dealer install. It's a convertible, and I have no plans to track it. Just a fun car for canyon carving & road trips. It's does handle well with the Steeda suspension. I'm running with smaller lighter cars in the twisties, seeing some shocked looks on some faces. I'll get it dynoed later this week

Get rid of that weak Roush tune. They have every nanny on and torque management and power drops off way too soon because of warranty. It’s still plenty powerful but you have to decide is a warranty important or is power levels that make you happy. A year in I said the heck with the warranty and got a killer 93 tune from VMP on my 17 Roush Phase 2 and got some more upgrades coming next month.

Hi Guys, I just had the supercharger installed at the dealer so I could keep the warranty. The car is not as quick as I thought it would be. I guess I was expecting too much. I have a literbike and get caught comparing apples to oranges. On the positive side, the power delivery is very smooth, and there is no whine. The car also sounds better, a little louder & deeper. Sounds like a fire breathing monster! It's like the same motor just increased in power. I put the progressive springs on and the car ride a little smoother, but not enough to justify the loss in handling so I had the linear's put back on. Love this car and plan on putting some 4's's on when these P zero's wear down. Any thoughts on tires?
Have a great day all

3.73 <---- get a new pumpkin 3.55 and you will sing a different story.

Thanks I just might do that. Any problems with yours after the tune?

Yeah, I believe you mean you have the Phase 1 supercharger. Stage 1 is a car package itself by Roush. If a dealer installed it, you probably have the Roush tune which is ridiculously conservative.
I'm coming to the conclusion that it just is what it is. If they're letting you keep the warranty, it's going to be conservative. I'll drive it for a little while like it is & think about tunes / upgrades. I want it to be reliable. Don't want to break down on a road trip. Thanks everyone for all the advice.

Exactly right. Roush keeps it that way for people who want the warranty, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to keep the warranty. For me personally, I knew I wanted more out of it, so I did a bunch of tuning and modding. Runs as smooth (maybe smoother) as it ever did. Reliable, PLENTY of power (for me), no issues, no problems, no BS.

Yep, I was expecting an M80 and someone handed me a sparkler and said " Here you go, have fun with it!" I'd like to know what you've done, if you changed the pulley, fuel pump, and if I could smog it out here in Cali land thx

Well, I did what's in the Phase 2 727 kit but added more stuff. I didn't need it of course, but Black Friday deals were way too good to pass up. My set-up is an 80mm pulley, ID 1050X injectors, NGK 6510 plugs, JLT 125 CAI, VMP fuel pump booster, Lund 93 octane tune, Reische 170 thermostat, Kook's 1-7/8" headers, and 3" MBRP exhaust. Same fuel pump and fuel system. As for being in Cali, I don't know what you can get away with out there. It hauled *ss (to me) before with the 670 kit and Lund 93 tune, but now, HOLY SH*T it's incredible. I am as far as I'm going to go power-wise, it's way more than enough for me, and I really don't want to switch fuel systems for different fuel. Also because my car sits too much anyway. It's just a toy for me, and I don't do the 1/4 mile strip. Throughout all the changes I ever did with it, it has never let me sit. No problem codes ever, no CEL, no rough idling, always smooth no matter what the rpm's.

Thanks a bunch. Gives me something to go on. You can do a lot with these motors. So Cal, So Cal, can't live with it, can't live without it. Bikes are no problem, no smog check. Have to see what I can do. I'm not a 1/4 miler either. I may end up going to 3.55's or even put the 3.03's it came with back in there. Spring is here, enjoy your Stang!

I worked at Roush and was on the design team for the first RPP supercharger kit in 2000. The Roush tune is conservative because they put the engine and supercharger through Ford Durability testing protocol. This is the same testing that the Lightning, 03-04 Cobra and the Ford GT powertrains were subjected to.

I am waiting for my 2019 PP2 mustang to arrive and the dealer will be installing my Ford Performance/Roush Supercharger before I pick it up. I am looking forward to driving this car. It will be my second supercharged car.

As far as California goes, we don't have to smog our cars for the first 8 years now. So if you are careful and don't go crazy, you can have some fun for 8 years but if you go overboard and get pulled over by the wrong cop, they will send you to a referee station to have your car inspected for emissions equipment and tailpipe testing. A kid I know had a engine swap and turbo on a Miata and got caught and got himself a $6,000.00 ticket and the registration pulled from his Miata permanently.

I did the same thing as hossman on my 15 Roush Phase 2, ditched the Roush tune after about a year and went with the VMP 93 octane tune. Doing nothing different other than the tune it made a very noticable difference in power. The Roush tune is a conservative 91 octane tune. I had VMP make a couple of tweaks primarily with the way the car shifted, and am very happy now with drivability and power. The datalogs I have reviewed are spot on.

Congrats on your new ride. Appreciate the info on smog. I didn't know that started the beginning of this year. It's an extra fee ( so what else is new! ) but you don't have to get it checked. It's kind of a weird situation. I've heard the push is to clamp down on street racers. If you are cool, they'll let you be. The SC is a nice unit, looks OEM and is quiet. Some like that whine but I like the fact you can't even tell it's there. Very smooth power delivery. I'm going to stage II. It's another 57 hp, can't hurt. The shop is not charging any labor which is nice.

Yep, it's weird here, but it's where I live & make my livelihood. And it does have some things to offer. Maybe some day I'll strap on my FN 5.7 & ride my horse thru the desert. Sounds like fun!
