This last time I had to get a tow. All the belts came off and left me stranded. Ford did a great job of getting someone out to me and getting it to a dealer.

Git er done! Especially before summer is here.Got the diagnosis: Evaporator and compressor![]()
Correct. Only time the compressor is on is when the A/C is on, or the climate control is set to a defrost setting.I have a dumb question, If I set my air intake mode to outside, put the blower on and leave the AC off, Im just going to be using the fan and not engaging the compressor? correct?
Thanks!, I can live with that for now. I was doing a long drive where the windows fogged up and I managed run the window vents without the AC (hitting the button to turn it off) on and it seemed to work a treat! Although i'm in NZ so rarely need to use it.Correct. Only time the compressor is on is when the A/C is on, or the climate control is set to a defrost setting.
Use a leak sealer if all you have is a leak. Mine is still going strong.and now my a/c has gone out .. twice .. once last year, and now this year .. which I am now 2k over warranty and like 2 weeks over the 1-year work warranty, went to the dealership and they told me to call ford -- called ford and one of the customer rep guys hung up on me after telling me they can't do anything about it, and the best thing I can do is pay out of pocket and "keep my receipts" just in case there's a recall in the future.
any advice on what to do next? I REALLY dont want to pay the 1,500 - 1,800 dollar cost of this, but summer is coming and I live in Texas .. #FML

If the dealer repaired your A/C or Evap core last year then the parts will be covered under Ford Motorcraft's one year warranty. Have the dealer diagnose the problem first before anything then I would call Ford back if the dealer will not be of help and be nice, direct and reasonable on what you would like as a resolution. Be willing to compromise. You can even use the TSB provided in this thread somewhere as a reference.and now my a/c has gone out .. twice .. once last year, and now this year .. which I am now 2k over warranty and like 2 weeks over the 1-year work warranty, went to the dealership and they told me to call ford -- called ford and one of the customer rep guys hung up on me after telling me they can't do anything about it, and the best thing I can do is pay out of pocket and "keep my receipts" just in case there's a recall in the future.

That being said do you have the reciepts from the last repairs?
That might be a first try for me if they won't fix it .. worth a try right.Use a leak sealer if all you have is a leak. Mine is still going strong.
Take it in ASAP, they might work with you.. Get it diagnosed of what the issue is before you do anything to it... Also quite a few folks on here state they have had good luck with Ford direct on providing some sort of financial assistance regarding the Evap core replacement if that is the issue.i do .. the year warranty is up though..by like 2 weeks.. :(
It was the evaporator .. they replaced the whole assembly -- leaks found on housing drains, a/c compressor blow off valve.Take it in ASAP, they might work with you.. You did not state what what repaired/replaced the last time you took it in???
