Just over a year ago my son's 50th anniversary Mustang was a total loss. As misfortune would have it, last week my Mustang was involved in a wreck. I got knocked into a curb, then hit a fence, did a 360 and came to rest in a puddle. The only panels on the car that did not sustain damage were the driver's door and trunk. Every other panel has damage, most damage is significant. I have gotten an estimate to repair the car. Let's see who can come closest to the estimate and if it is a total loss or not.

A little more on the damage. The curb did significant damage to the exhaust and suspension front and rear. The windshield is smashed.

Let the games begin.

To me personally, if the engine and drive train are in tact, then I would say not a total loss.
Alas, I have no idea on a figure...

Wow that looks insane. The car is a total loss. Your loss of headlights alone are 10% of the entire cars value.

Whats it like being involved in something like that? I hope you're okay. Damn.

Yes. I walked away without a scratch. It was definitely one hell of a ride. I guess we can stop the game now. $32,000 to fix the car. Wildcatgoal is pretty good at $33,000.
To replace the headlights the ballast and bulbs was $5000. Rims, exhaust and tires another $6000.

Insurance offered $32,000 for a total loss. Done deal. Fun while it lasted.

One other thing I remember is the engine cradle almost $1900.
The knee airbag deployed but none of the others.

So now the new game we get to play is, will you end up in another mustang or something different?
I see a 2022 GT500 in my future. Until then, the 2011 F-150 Coyote will suffice.

Where in Houston did that happen? I'm assuming the stand-up Htown driver stayed around to make sure you were ok and take responsibility?!?!?! Glad you made it out without injury.

You had a lot of mods. Hope the ins company doesn't try to screw you and you recoup some of it.

Sorry to hear about the accident and I'm glad you are ok. I'm actually surprised that it wouldn't cost even more to fix it. Just glad it was totaled, though.

Damn, you were literally just running this thing at the track not long ago! Sad to see it damaged like that, but I'm glad you're okay.

Hope to see you in another Mustang again soon. It kept you alive and that's what is important.

lol I asked him the same if they stopped. Even money bet that the offender had paper plates on there too.

That's what blew me away...the cost of the headlights!
