I would get tired and annoyed with having to paddle shift 10 gears and then the ECU getting confused when I didn't paddle shift. Having a clutch is so much more liberating.

I've driven 13 speed tractor trailers, 9 speed tri-axle dump trucks, duplex trans dump trucks (what a treat that was), three on the column pickups, my beater/work car Chevy Cobalt is a 5 speed that I drive on a 105 mile round trip each day to a job site in Aberdeen MD, and my Mustang is manual as well. It hasn't gotten old to me over the years. Don't know if it ever will.

Had Ford used a proper manual in the mustang, I probably wouldn't have traded my FBO 2015 GTPP in. Or maybe traded it in for a manual 2018. The car was definitely a blast and I loved the engagement after buying a shifter, suspension upgrades and fluid change lol. I do miss the direct engagement to the car sometimes but the 10r80 with track mode is a blast honestly. It really reminds me of driving a DCT/DSG type car. Hell, if I had the money I'd own a manual and a automatic lol.

To be fair, when you have an auto with paddle shifters and ten speeds, you only use the first 4 gears when you drive aggressively so that whole "shifting 10 speeds with a paddle" is way overblown.

I never had a manual before, but I have had a very nice 8 speed and a 7 speed DCT. I ordered my manual GT without being able to drive a stick. It's my daily driver, and it's the most fun I have ever had in a car - even though I am slower! I don't race or try to be the fastest, I was going for pure driving enjoyment. I don't regret it I love it after two months in.

most of you I assume will say no so... I am considering trading my 18 GT 10 speed for a 2019 or 2020
GT for a manual. My 2004 GT was my last car that I rowed my gears for 7 years and enjoyed it.
Do any of you folks regret buying the Manuel as a daily driver?
I do not like the 10 speed I guess because it’s clunky, I don’t like the adaptive learning either.
I love the aceleration but it’s the clunky down shifts that “ bothers “ me.
I personally like the 6R80/ZF better than the 10R80. I had the 10 for a day as a loaner vehicle and didn't care for it. The ZF is an excellent 6 IMO, especially in sport mode.

I would also prefer a slap stick auto over the paddle shifter auto.

I drove manual cars for 20+ years and will never go back. When I need a manual fix I will pick up a Ninja.

I had a 6-speed in my 15 GT, sold it. Later bought a 15 GT auto, it was great especially for drag. Sold it. Bought an 18 GT this time - manual. Wanted the rowing back in my life because in my auto I'd have to mentally pretend like I was 5 years old that I still had a shifter lol... it just isn't as fun. The auto 10 is better in almost every way, except that it's in control of when it shifts and not you. You can paddle, etc. Sure. But there's something to be said for wanting to go from 6th to 3rd and smack it. It doesn't require an auto to downshift gear by gear to 5th or 6th or wherever it decides to land. And if you know theres a curve you want it in a particular gear for, the computer doesn't know that, and would/could shift for you at the wrong time/when you don't want. Having gearbox manual control is something pure. That being said, the automatic has it beat in every other possible way. Get what you want!

This is an endless debate and, repeating previous comments (both here and in other threads), our opinions are rather moot, as you need to satisfy yourself. I happen to have an A10, which I chose for various reasons. I came out of a manual Sonata, and have had various manuals over nearly 40 years of driving. The A10 was the correct choice for me and may, or may not, be the correct choice for you, but ultimately it is your choice.

Driving a manual makes you a more attentive driver, even the way you sit, you are truly driving and in control, in an auto you are just cruising along

Ever since I installed the MGW and swapped fluids, I love shifting gears even more than I already did.

Both LoL, I'm at the age where the knee starts to bother me with too much movement. My 03 GT is a manual and a blast to drive and hear, yes she snaps, crackles and pops quite loudly. But the 19 is way more responsive and the technology amazes me.

All of my cars have to be an Auto

I have nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) in my left leg from a training accident which causes constant pain in my left foot. A clutch pedal would make my foot pain worse, so my only option is an automatic car.

With that being said, even without the nerve damage, I would choose an auto S550 GT. I love how hard/fast and crisp the up-shifts are (with LUND tune) and the rev match downshifts are kinda cool too, when I want them in sport mode.

And I like how when I tell people it's and auto car, they sneer and somehow think the car is "slower" with the auto. Little do they know....
