I'm sure OP has to keep quiet about this now that action(Fixing, legal or whatever) is being taken. I had some legal action done years ago against a major manufacturer and I had to zip it.The images showing the piston are not showing a “compressed” piston - the lower part of the piston (the skirt) is missing and most likely shattered into pieces, dropping down into the pan.
The bottom of that head is going to be destroyed as well, no doubt.
I know the OPs S550 is not a 2018, but just as reference, there were quite a few 2018 reported GT Coyote failures due to valve drops - some ended up being catastrophic. I’m wondering if the OPs Coyote experienced a valve drop and the timing of adding a Tune was just totally coincidental.
The OP seems to be MIA for whatever reasons and never posted any additional pics.
I just can’t believe that while cruising at 70mph there was no audible signs of that piston letting go and slamming around in that cylinder hole...
Was there a WOT pull getting to 70mph and then it let go?
I mean, I’ve had engines go on me in the past and catastrophic failure such as what is seen in those images doesn’t come quietly..

Hit up the TSB/Issues forum on here and back peddle through all the 2018 S550 threads. Hit up other Mustang forums - the failures regarding valve drops were well discussed.Define "quite a few"
