IMO stick shift cars slicks only and side step the clutch at 5,000 rpm+. Slicks will spin slightly which is what they are designed for. Faster and at the same time easier on the drivetrain.

Yeah, this morning I am rethinking the setup. Thinking of going 28" bias-ply and going to a 3.55 rear gear. With a set of skinny bias-ply up front as well, I think this can be a good setup.

I also have GT350 half shafts to install and maybe I'll get a 1-piece aluminum drive shaft as well.

Now all that remains is to put together the money for all this over this winter ;)

My only experience with mt-82 was in my 14 with 3:73 and i'm sure the ratios in the tranny have changed since then....

MT-82 ratios remained the same from 2011-2017;

I daily drive on a set of drag radials, they work ok on the street. Take them to the track and the stock tires work better. Drag radials and a stick simply do not work.

I have a stick with MH racemaster drag radials and I pulled a 1.8 60ft with almost 30 psi in the tires, no burnout, and drove through the water box. Went 12.20 at 115. Stock tires would not hook all the way through 3rd gear.

Bone stock on stock tires I pulled a 1.76 60' and a 12.6 @ 113mph on the stock 235 tires. Now with 750+whp on the stock sized 235's I went 10.8 @ 136, on 265 drag radials I managed a 10.8 @ 134. I prefer the stock radials at the track as the drag radials have the tendency to try to wheel hop on shifts.

I prefer the stock radials at the track as the drag radials have the tendency to try to wheel hop on shifts.

That is incredibly impressive! I have rarely seen anyone post sub 1.9s with OEM tires, unless they are high performance summer tires, which our Mustangs do not come with.
I was able to run 1.9s with my old Trans Am on garbage Cooper tires, but I had some suspension/chassis work done and seat time to get there. I had started at around 2.1x with that car but after a few track days and the work I did to the rear suspension, I was able to consistent 1.90x 60ft

But 1.76 60' with the stock Mustang tires is really, really good. Automatic or manual?

Lund Dyno tune, PMAS intake, and 2018 manifold. Pretty simple cheap setup.

Even with a stock or mildly tuned car? I could understand the danger with a blower but I see guys with sticks and drag radials at my tracks all the time and haven't heard of any issues.

Depends on the track prep and launch methods.
You can dial up >6k and sidestep te clutch on the bias ply.
Try that with a decent radial and watch your axles crumble. No blower required.
