I have a stick with MH racemaster drag radials and I pulled a 1.8 60ft with almost 30 psi in the tires, no burnout, and drove through the water box. Went 12.20 at 115. Stock tires would not hook all the way through 3rd gear.
Am I the only one that's not a fan of the gigantic diameter rediculous wheels? Their has to be a point where wheels just can't get any bigger without being incredibly suspectible to any minor pot hole and curb.
Fair enough. I think a full second is a stretch tho. I think their is a lot of people in manual cars that just can't drive to be honest though. Autos are no question easier to drag. For me manuals are so much more fun and make you feel so much more connected to the car. To each their own.
No I cannot. No videos because I don't own a go pro, I do have a stack of time slips though. Their is no question an auto shifts quicker, I'm surprised my response to this has so many people upset.
Mines not a stock tire. MH drag radials. I really don't have much done to it, stock exhaust manifolds , 18 intake and a really , really good local Dyno tune. It's just the way people with 18+ cars say how many light years faster they are than the older 5.0s, I'm not seeing it at my track. It...
I'm really not as impressed with the a10 as everyone else. Not one 10 speed auto beat my older (17) less hp rated 6 speed manual tune and intake only at the track. I see on YouTube guys are running mid 11s at crazy low DA tracks with the 18 A10s but at my track nobody was running 11s. They...
Oh I totally own up to not being the best stick driver . I didn't practice launching at all before I went and it felt like the car was going to stall because the tires stuck so hard. It's something to be said tho pulling 1.8 60s with zero experience. I'm sure once I get the hang of it I can go...
Well .......with a 1.89 60 ft I went 12.20@115 with tune stock manifolds and a 2018 intake in a 17 gt. I think you should definitely be faster than 13s. I'd maybe analyze what rpm you are shifting at.
Was going to run the car tonight for more practice but realized it was 9 million degrees outside and humidity thick enough to cut it with a knife when I woke up to walk the dog . It would be pretty pointless to run it tonight. I can't wait for fall. I'm so over summer temps and humidity.
You have much lighter front wheels and a ton more suspension stuff than me and cut a 1.5 60 ft. Mine was a high 1.8 (1.89 I believe). Not only that I have no idea what I was shifting at, probably not the right rpm lol.
The dyno that did my car was pretty shocked it put down almost 440HP at the tire without long tubes. Something about that 2018 intake with lockouts and lund tune just works.
I think that's around the density altitude I had that night. It was like 80 degrees, high humidity, track prep was excellent. I haven't ran a car from a dig in years and somehow managed a 1.8 60 ft by dumb luck.
edit: hey I noticed you have racestars as well. What size wheel/tire did you go...
