I installed my MPT tune yesterday...holy moly did Ford neuter the V6. Different car all together and I love the way it shifts...smooth as butter and it just is so much more aggressive past 2500 RPM.

Jason, I read your build and it's impressive. But for the life of me the only thing missing is a 5.0 engine. Basically you have transformed a V6 into a GT. Suspension, Brakes, Exhaust, Interior , Induction, Wheels. I realize you got a good deal and the V6 is a good and stable platform. But to spend all that money and time and still not have a V8 GT. I will never understand.

I get it and it's your car and you are proud of it. So with that being said enjoy your ride. It's still a pretty impressive build. Thanks for sharing, Good Stuff.

Put these on this morning. Still missing a couple items but they'll be coming in the next few days. I was hoping to have it all worked out for a car show this weekend but all good.

It also going to get detailed today which will be nice.

Holy High Oil Pressure

Well, I did the first oil change today and holy shit. They oil comes out with some force. Shit!!!!! I pulled the plug and oil shot out into the catch bin and then sprayed everywhere.

I also added a few frame goodies.

Steeda G-trac brace. Super easy install. I also added the a Ford lower K-brace and new plastic piece the has the oil filter trap door.

It looked like someone murdered my car and she bleed out.

Not a bad deal at my dealership for the 10 quarts and a filter. $55.11 out the door. He discounted the oil by about $1 per quart.

Maybe I should do it at the in-laws house.

Maybe I should do it at the in-laws house.

I would be interested to see the EZ drain valve. I saw some that are threaded for a traditional metal oil pan but this new pan has a plastic plug that is not threaded like a traditional metal drain plug. It only turns about 1/2 of a turn and that is it. Not really threaded, it's one channel in the plastic that is it. I will look up the EZ drian valve.

Similar to this GT350 plug except no center square hole a socket driver fits into. I has a plastic blade you grab and turn.

I just realized you can see it sitting in the metal catch pan in the first photo.

Yes you can: I purchased four 20" wheels and tires and carried them inside my car for 50 miles. They fit inside , all 4
Installed today. Foundry wheels on white Mustang. Looking good

Mine is a 2016 so it looks like the plug is different on the 2018. I’ve actually never seen a plastic plug like that before. I just did a quick look on the EZ oil drain valve website and unfortunately it looks like they don’t make one yet for the 2018. Fumoto shows drain valves for the 2018 but they are all threaded like mine as well.
Definitely not looking forward to changing the oil. Good thing I have large pieces of cardboard to lay down. I wonder if a giant funnel would minimize the mess.

When reading the initial post in the build thread, I thought the most important part was:

"The overall goal of this build is to make the car handle like a fighter jet in the corners and add just a little more power to the car."

Having the lighter V6 in the front helps the car to be less nose heavy and better balanced from the start. If he perfects the balance of the platform through modifications, and then adds a little more horsepower to this perfectly balanced platform, he has achieved his goal.

Some drivers want to accelerate as fast as they can in a straight line, maximizing positive longitudinal Gs. Others want to decelerate as quickly as possible, maximizing negative longitudinal Gs. Still others want to tear up the twisties, maximizing lateral Gs (and rate of change of G, a.k.a. transition). Any one of these feats of physics can pull the fillings out of your teeth: it's just a matter of which way the fillings go flying when they come out, and the goofy, crater-filled grin that remains on the driver's face.

And for some, it's not just about the Gs, but also about the dBs (and the "quality" of the sound that registers on the dB meter). One of the driving forces behind my attempted journey from the wonderfully efficient V6 to the soul stirring V8 is the aural stimulation that results from the sonorous sound waves emanating from that skillfully engineered lump of metal.

As long as the SPG figure (Smiles Per Gallon) is right (and there's enough money left in the bank to take care of the rest of the family - if there is one), that's all that matters. To each their own.
