Does anyone know if Ford used the same old opg in the 18's as previous years?

Part #s and details are scarce, but considering the track record of previous parts (when not abused) I don't see a single reason for Ford to massively change those. They haven't done it in 2 decades even in the high revving Coyote...so can't see them going out of their way now.

FWIW, they did put in a better damper on the 18s to handle the extra RPM, which is the proper way to do it vs. upgrading the gears themselves.

they haven't been changed...and, with the new oil pan, it' gonna have to come off to get to it, so proably an extra 3-4 hours in labor time from what we seen on ours

Damn man, there goes the new higher price for OPG/CG's to be installed. I was considering a new '18 until I saw this chit.......SMFH @Ford.

Why is that? What has changed in the configuration that makes it impossible to reach the bolts from the front cover?

The pan is more like, what is on the GT350. And that is a real PITA.

I think in most cases they do not. VMP, Lethal, even Whipple flogged the shit out of their cars with stock gears and no issues. I have not changed mine.

What's the theoretical limit of grears?
Like boost level or is the RPM level?

Are auto cars a little safer since they wont' get high in the RPMS?

More about harmonics. Don't bounce it off the revlimiter all damn day.

From our experience one of the main culprits in the oil pump gear failure is the installation of a supercharger. The extra load on the front snout combined with the additional harmonics seems to lead to failure.

Our dealers routinely report that they recommend a gear change with a supercharger install.

With a turbo installation, we have seen much less--to no need to change the gear. This being due to the fact that with a turbo the crank is untouched, and the rpm of engine does not need to be maximized to reach full power.
