So I was planning on attempting the OPG/CS swap myself as it seemed pretty straight forward for prior years since I have a whipple on the way. Problem is, I only am just now seeing hints that for the 2018+ you need to drop the oil pan to get the new oil pump assembly off which involves dropping the whole subframe... can anyone confirm this?

Idk where you’re located, but signature speed has a $950 deal installed right now...

You don't have to completely drop the subframe, but you do need to loosen it enough so that you can drop the front of the pan to get the pickup tube off of the pump.

You don't have to completely pull out the oil pan but you do need to lower it on to the K-Member.

Cool, so with enough patience and an engine support, this would be difficult but doable with some jack stands and a floor jack or two right?

I already got the docs for pan removal, seemed a lot more daunting first time I read it, but not quite as bad now.

You can definitely do this in your garage with jacks!

I just finished my OPG's and will be moving onto the headers and whipple next. Dropping and re-installing the oil pan was pretty straightforward and barely needed to raise the engine to remove the oil pump. I also pulled the radiator/fan assembly since it was simple and gives a lot more working room at the front of the engine.

Cool, yea this is in prep for a stage 2 whipple on the way. Picked up that and the mmr opg/cs set for black friday.

Here's mine while Anthony did my OPG's. We also bought a brand new oil pan which was only $132 in case the stock one somehow distorted from original install and heat cycles. It was a very cheap thing to do and know that I had a new OP installed.

we typically take all the bolts out but the back 2 and loosen those and let the pan hang down. you can then get to the oil pump.

just remember to use silicone on the corners when reinstalling or you could get an oil leak
