Like my mom's Acura ILX beeps when you lock it via the button on the handle. My 2018 does not is there any settings to change it? I just want something to acknowledge it is in fact locked. Like a chirp or a beep.

It’s really not, I don’t trust the touch sensor on mine for locking, I always double tap the key fob. I wish there was an audible confirmation too.

If you’re so worried just pull the handle immediately after using the touch sensor to lock the door. The owners manual said something like within 2 seconds of locking you can try pulling on the handle to make sure it’s locked, so use that.

^ Same here. I'm not a fan of the honking every time I lock my car. I prefer the stealthy handle lock and just looking for the red light/s for confirmation.

No one said anything about wanting a honk.

After you touch the handle, hear the click, and the lights flash, just belt out a loud bird-like "CHIRP!" or "BEEP!". Problem solved...AND......it's a great way to meet people!

There's a very distinct locking noise and you can feel it engage on your finger. If you really want reassurance, just use the keyfob. Japanese vs American are different on those small features and sometimes you'll notice they pay a lot more attention to small details.

The “lock noise” honestly doesn’t sound much different than the steering wheel lock engaging, which occurs automatically whether you lock your doors or not. Just saying.
