Again, I appreciate everyone taking the time to give me their input. I realize I that it is a dicey topic. My stress over the rats thing just put my mind into overdrive. At this point, I am going to get my car repaired tomorrow for the second time. Last night, I parked in a different spot a hundred feet away or so. There was no immediate evidence they came back. But, we shall see tonight. To address the comment about getting my complex to do pest control. They told me it was not their issue and refused to help. I appreciate the mostly respectful nature of everyone's suggestions. At this point, I am going to keep the EB and just hope.I won't mechanically mod it. But, I will get new summer wheels and tires. And, possibly more aesthetic mods. I will enjoy what I have.

Acceptance is the last stage.

If it’s any consolation I have been trying to get squirrels out of my attic for years. They just keep coming back. At least I had my adenoids removed with my tonsils so I can tolerate rodent shit and piss more than others. You sound young so I guess having a car that smells like rat shit and piss would be a turn off for your date. Anyway keep the car. I swear if you got a GT you would get hitched to some gal and have to sell it to buy a house and especially if kids appeared. Then you get divorced and can get a performance car again but don’t have the cash due to support payments. So all you do is see some other guy driving around town in an Ecoboost Mustang with the windows open and wish you could be him.

Doesn’t that make you feel better?

Yeah that's the R, unless you mean the regular 350 as well? Still an insanely silly post regardless.
No I meant the R because it has magnaride, an oil & transmission cooler plus the carbon fiber rims you can sell so you can buy some sweet forged ones and have extra $ for tires:-)

My point is that other than the top dog, I’m perfectly happy in my (much maligned) base model. It’s not a pissing match for me, I just feel sorry for all of the ecoboost owners who are worried about their engines blowing up because of DI.

I think you're the only one with a comprehension issue on that part, sure you may not love the way your car sounds but I think my car sounds pretty good the way I have it. I didn't say they sound the same either, I said the V6 is easier to make sound better than the Eco. And stock it wasn't shit sounding, more of a "oh you were revving??"

And if you're running 87 you may as well get the V6 because you'd be making about 10% more HP and be sounding better, just worse off on torque (by roughly that same 10% margin).
The stupidity on this forum and the Facebook group never cease to amaze me...

I stand by what I said before. You failed to comprehend my post for the second time...

If you looked at what was written in my above post, the quote from another member here said

The EcoBoost drops to like 275 horsepower on 87 while the V6 is at 300 horsepower.

As for the sound being the same:
The exact sentence was "As for the sound being the same: "

Why would you quote me on that part if you're not addressing what I'm saying then? Doesn't make any sense to me there

If you think people are failing to comprehend your posts, post in an intelligible manner instead, helps everyone involved instead of having to guess what you're directing at who.

Guess I'm stupid for liking the way my car sounds XD

He's the only one I know of that thinks the EcoBoost sounds better than the V6. The V6 with an exhaust sounds awesome, very similar to a lot of expensive V6 sports cars.

Now you are just putting words in my mouth. Please quote me on where I said that?

I said they both sound awful. My MBRP helps a bit, but it's no VW R32, WRX, or Lancer Evo, that's for sure.

Btw, I've heard of very few v6s that sound good. I6s on the other hand, me likey.

If the rodents continue to damage your car, I would call a local pest control company and see if they have any advice. Is anyone else that parks where you do having any issues? Seems like it would be likely if they have already damaged your car twice.

As for trading for a V6 / GT whatever...

That's up to you. What do YOU want out of car versus what you can / will spend?

The 2.3 Ecoboost is relatively new for the Mustang - it's normal for there to be issues that end up getting revised / updated (I'm assuming some have already), having a turbo just elevates those issues a bit.

There were issues with the 3.5 EB in the trucks in the beginning. I had a co worker and two good friends go through issues on a first year run truck. Two of them ended up getting a sweetheart deal from the dealer on a similarly equipped F150 with the 5.0 engine and one went to another brand.

It's not exclusive to Ford - every other make of car has had issues with certain models / drivetrains etc. Even the brands considered "ultra reliable" - like say Honda. They had oil burning issues with some 8thgen 4 cyl Accords and some VCM V-6 cars. It happens.

That aside - don't lump in the issues that you are having with your Mustang (really doesn't matter if it's a EB, V6, GT or even GT350) I would think the rodents would treat them all the same, with some of the issues that arisen with EB powered Mustangs.

Problem with asking for advice like this on a forum is that people will inherently defend what they have / what they prefer.

I bought a new '17 V6. I would never have bought new if I hadn't of gotten the deal I did. I knew what I was getting. I PERSONALLY don't prefer small displacement turbo 4 cylinders for my daily drivers. That's me. I've owned them - just not my cup of tea. Much of it likely stems from the trauma I endured with my experience with turbo Buick V6 cars.

Now if I hadn't of gotten a ridiculously good deal on a new '17 V6 / 6 speed, I might have entertained a used GT 6 speed if the right deal had shown itself. And while the GT has some advantages over the V6 car in certain aspects, it also has some drawbacks for my PERSONAL situation....

Everyone's situation is different.

Drive / buy what you like versus what you need versus what you can safely afford.

They are all personal decisions.

Each model has it's benefits and each has its drawbacks. That's the nature of the beast.

If you take away the rodent issue, do you like your car? If you do - keep driving it.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Remember everything is personal and subjective as it comes to these topics. Even talking about what engine "sounds good" and what doesn't. It's all personal preference. Personally one of the most expensive and popular exhausts on the GT's - I can't stand how it sounds.

Good think it's NOT my car and I'm NOT spending my money or my time on it.

That's what makes this hobby great and frustrating at the same time. The different tastes / preferences of the individual.

My mistake, yeah you said they both sound bad, which still to crazy to me but I suppose sound is subjective. Jaguar F-Type, Nissan 350/370Z, Nissan GT-R (with exhaust), Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Mercedes C/E 43 AMG, Kia Stinger GT, Camaro V6 and even the new Ford GT all sound great to me, just to name a few.

Thank you very much. I realize I should not have gotten posed the question. I realize that now.

Rabbits got into my ST engine bay and ate through the cam sensor wire. I fixed it myself but my room mate and I went and took out the rabbits that were within the area. I never had an issue after that.

Do you have the engine cover on your engine still? If not, that will make it much easier for them to get to the wires. I would stuff dryer sheets all over that engine bay, but make sure you take them out before you drive it again.

You need to get rid of the rats. That's the big issue here and it will mitigate your problems.

Also, FWIW, I have had a couple ecoboosts, both with lots of track miles and neither had a single hiccup ever.

Here's a crappy video of the MBRP Street (GT) cat back on my '17 V6 car with shorty headers. Zero drone. No rasp. I actually got asked what exhaust I had by a guy with a GT - he couldn't believe it was a V6.

This is with both window down.

The 3.7s sounds pretty okay IMO. Even the 3.8L V6s sound pretty good with the right (non-raspy) exhaust. I like the way mine sounds anyway.

A v6 Mustang is more desirable than a GT350?
He got a little carried away. :doh:Nobody desires the entry level anything. Even if it's a Nissan Versa. You still want it with options. And modding a car to get 330HP was cool back in 2005. Not today.

I definitely don't think the 3.7 sounds bad at all. With the wrong setup it can sound really bad though. I prefer the S550 V6 with a Stock GT Catback exhaust, it’s deeper sounding, no rasp, no drone, and not ricey. It is what I had on mine.
As for the Ecoboost I think it sounds best stock, the only really good sounding 4cyl I know of is the Subaru, I think it’s the boxer engine.

I love how this thread talks about V6’s, Ecoboosts, GT’s, and Rats lol.
