I guess i won that argument. the pedal commander is faster. It's big of you to finally admit that.

Also I doubt you're physically faster than me, so I'll have a further advantage on the pedal speed ;)
This whole time we all have said yes it reaches it "faster". But the difference is not measurable, you even said that yourself! You are too busy beating your chest and trying to shoot down logical statements you missed the boat on the whole conversation.

You are right, I missed your explanation on the 1/2 mile vs 1/4 mile... sorry if I didn't see it in your numerous ramblings. So much bullshit on here from you must of slipped in some of it.

I am curious, what don't I understand since I don't understand so very much? Please educate me, I'm genuinely interested in what you have to say. Since we both have been saying the same fu*king thing this whole time, yet you think the pedalamx is the shit because of an immeasurable difference. Faster is relative, if it is relative to something that cannot be measured then there is no difference!

I don't need to be faster than you or anyone else, I bought the car for me to enjoy and that is exactly what I do with it. I already know how big my di*k is, don't care about yours.

After all this time, how does it not open the throttle quicker? Even in your attempt of explaining how you think it works, claiming that the output is double the normal throttle output for example, how is that not admitting that the throttle is open wider and therefore quicker?

Let's suppose you're correct in how you think it works (via "signal-throttle mapping"),

pp - pedal position
to - throttle output

Pedalmax
0-pp(0-to), 10-pp(20-to), 20-pp(40-to), 30-pp(60-to), 40-pp(80-to), 50-pp(100-to)

stock
0-pp(0-to), 10-pp(10-to), 20-pp(20-to), 30-pp(30-to), 40-pp(40-to), 50-pp(50-to)...100-pp(100-to)

if we agree that the foot in our test presses the pedal no quicker with or without the pedalmax, how is the throttle not at 100% sooner? How is this not therefore faster? :frusty:

And this has nothing to do with lag. Lag is when you press the pedal and you get no response. Not getting the desired output is not lag just so we're clear. No one here is arguing about lag.
Simply changing the modulation does not affect the speed. The angular velocity of the throttle is fixed. You cannot change this, and the pedal commander does not alter this.

Now that we have that out of the way (hopefully), we can talk about the opening time difference. What you are trying to elude to is that you pressing the throttle down 60% has a measurable time difference to pressing the pedal down 100%. Now technically speaking, you are correct...the throttle will reach 100% sooner as your foot doesn't have to travel the extra 40%...however, I dare you to try to measure the time delta between you pressing the throttle 60% and me 100%. Were talking about fractions of a second here.

If you wan't to believe these immeasurable time differences are going to allow you to somehow get the jump on a guy during a roll race...so be it. The rest of us know better....which is the reason none here are defending your comments.

The pedal input and output do not directly control your throttle body blade, so no matter how fast your foot is or how on off switch you make your pedal sensor signal output, the ecu will only open the throttle body so fast. And if it doesn't think conditions permit, aka traction control or torque management it will not even open to throttle body to 100.

Point being don't think because you changed the pedal it changed the throttle body the same way. There is a rate limit on the throttle body.

I'm not automotive savvy, so I don't know what you're talking about here. I just know you mash the pedal more, you go faster. I think you're trying to say what markmurfie is saying below, if so, please read my response.

While I never said it did change the throttle body blade rate, i appreciate you expounding more on the throttle body blade part of your point.

While I understand you've all, at some point, argued that the variable difference is negligible, it was denying that there was a variable component in this whole debate that was messed up.

While this may seem like a seemingly stupid analogy, the point i was making which some of you continually denied is like two pistols with unequal travel distances for the triggers. For argument sake assume everything is equally fixed except that it takes twice the time to pull that longer trigger. If both gunmen draw equally fast and pull equally fast, the gun with the shorter travel will eject that bullet first.

You have your fixed factors (pedal distance, resistance, throttle body opening rate, no driver mods, etc) and the one variable factor - the "trigger" (shorter pedal press).

Haha..this thread lives again!...All I want to say here is thanks Pedalmax!. ..was gonna sell this sluggish s550 but now its like having my 5.0 foxbody driving fun back. No tune required here just yet but may start to experiment when the warranty is up.

More work does not get done because a manager told some one to do it in a louder voice. Nor does it get done faster if they tell the person faster. The work only gets done faster if the person doing wants to do it faster.

The only reason you would buy this is for adjustment of the pedal feel on the fly. The base mustangs do not have normal, sport, wet modes and sometimes that's not enough to satisfy people's preferences. It does not replace a tune. A tune can't give you on the fly pedal map changes, but it can change your pedal map if you can live with setting it and forgetting it. Some people go faster at the drag strip in wet/snow mode as it gives them more control as small pedal movements don't translate to large throttle body movements causing wheel spin. You don't get the chance to try it in a base model. With that this product has its place, but should be less than 100$.

whaaaaaaaat...? you mean if I press it down 10% demanding 20% output at that moment, the ecu might decide to pause before opening the throttle or are you saying something else, I've already covered?

This is a poor analogy.

What's the pedal, the pedal distance, the pedal commander, the throttle body, the foot (no driver mods remember)?

normal in a base GT is Drive
Sport, Sport+, Track in a base GT is Sport, Sport with Sport steering, & Sport with Advantrac Sport Mode enabled with Sport steering respectively.

The only mode the base GT can't replicate is rain/snow (or whatever it's called)

If all you want changed is a tunes throttle mapping on steroids then yes, it can replace a tune.

I have a tune for more power and torque, i have the pedal commander for better throttle response. Yes I said it better throttle response :)

If your car doesn't come with a feature that you want but a product can provide and that a tune can't satisfy, the manufacturer can sell it at whatever price it wants so long as people buy it. It's called capitalism.

How about making this device working the other way around? By that I mean smooth out the throttle response to not have so much power upfront. I have 640 to the wheels and my car feels like I get all of it up front. I am used to turbo cars and I am not used to getting all this power so soon with the supercharger.

I have 640 to the wheels and my car feels like I get all of it up front. I am used to turbo cars and I am not used to getting all this power so soon with the supercharger.
After reading markmurfie's reply about eco mode possibly being something to look at for drag racing, I was disappointed to learn that it prevents you from reaching WOT. But there is a micro usb port on the side of the pedal commander. I'm guessing they use it to flash it to work with all the other cars it's compatible with. I'm going to call them and ask if there are any plans to provided a drag mode for big hp rwd cars and a quick firmware update to add it via the micro usb port.

Here's a response I gave someone on fb when he asked how can it feel more powerful than it is without increasing hp and tq.

The effect of small quick bursts (I guess that's how I would describe it) gives it a torquey experience. Just do a very quick 0-22% or 10-22% pedal press and you'll know what I'm talking about (I monitor my pedal press in real time with my sct tuner, that's where I'm getting those #'s). The pedal commander does it more easily by shortening the pedal travel. I use it on top of my tune (all my tunes in the past) and driving the car with it disabled makes me immediately want to turn it back on. (I've had a Lund tune with over 10 revisions, a local sct tune, a steeda tune, the stock Roush cal, and now a JDM tune and all of them, except the Roush Cal, have adjusted throttle maps). Hope this clarifies my choice of words.
