How long would it last? Currently 13k on my odometer.

I have an RXT sitting here, but since I plan to pull the trans whenever the billet MT82 gear set is released OR go magnum XL in the near future I figured save myself the trouble of pulling the trans twice and just leave the stocker in there.

Initial phase I will be a standard stage 2 whipple with catless headers, probably will avoid the track while stock clutch or if I do go will know to take it easy.

But I don't want to try a WOT pull after install and smoke the clutch in the first 5 minutes.

There are a few that put 10,000+ on the stock clutch. You "should" be ok. Just don't beat it too hard. No launches or power shifts.

I'm sitting at 20,000 on the stock clutch with the ole KB.
as mr Jhatley said, dont powershift or launch the car. I woudnt use a drag radial or bias ply slick on the ass end either, stick to street compounds and itll be fine until you can upgrade

Mine lasted longer than my motor, lol. Had 6k boosted miles on it, plenty of track passes. Looked perfect when it came out.

My stock clutch was fine as long as I had the factory Pirellis. They would just go up in smoke before the clutch had a chance to slip. Once I installed the Michelin Sport Cup 2s it lasted me about 500 miles. I made a 3rd gear stab, pulled to 7500 and didn't even get into 4th before I heard it let go. Sounded like my transmission exploded. Pulled the transmission to inspect and found this... One side still had friction material in tact but looked burnt, the other side completely disintegrated and was metal on metal. Replaced it with a Mantic and haven't had a single issue power shifting even with the stock plastic clutch line.

That gd mantic is so fucking expensive compared to everything else though...
I'm really torn as to what clutch to run on this shitty getrag with my power levels

It ate a couple bearings, hurt the crank and bent a couple rods. Opened the clearances up with the new one, I can only assume a couple were on the tight side of spec from factory.

Same thing happened to mine. Seems like the stock clutch comes apart above 7,000rpm

I know Mantic gets thrown around a lot, but to be fair there is an organic version (607ft lbs rating) and ceramic version (1000+ft lb rated).

I am not sure I really see any difference between the ceramic version and the RXT that is claimed to break MT82's?

EDIT: So now I finally noticed, the RXT comes two ways, with a sprung hub (1000hp rated) and non-sprung hub (1200hp rated).

Has anyone noticed or paid attention to this? I wonder what clutches people have used that have broken the MT82.
