Just as you can send in your MT82 RXT and have it resplined to 26 tooth when you do a magnum/TR6060 conversion, you SHOULD be able to have them go the other way around, from a 23 to 26.

But either way, as you said, considering the Mantic comes with the identical parts list (flywheel, slave, bolts, twin disc) and theyre the identical price, not so bad!

Called McLeod, no go.

So the entire reason the RXT is made with a solid hub is due to how shallow the MT82 bellhousing is, there is simply no room for the thicker sprung hub. The TR6060, Magnum, etc has a deeper bell housing.

That is why you can take a skinnier solid hub RXT and stuff it in the TR6060 and Magnum, since it is physically already smaller.

Makes the Mantic kind of a no brainer. I had no idea everyone was running a solid hubs on these cars, never really bought into the whole "RXT will break the MT82," OF COURSE it will based on design. Kind of a light bulb moment for me. I will be ordering the Mantic.

Anyone in the market for a brand new RXT???

That gd mantic is so fucking expensive compared to everything else though...
Right. You're half way @ the cost of a XL trans swap.

I know Mantic gets thrown around a lot, but to be fair there is an organic version (607ft lbs rating) and ceramic version (1000+ft lb rated).

I am not sure I really see any difference between the ceramic version and the RXT that is claimed to break MT82's?

EDIT: So now I finally noticed, the RXT comes two ways, with a sprung hub (1000hp rated) and non-sprung hub (1200hp rated).

Has anyone noticed or paid attention to this? I wonder what clutches people have used that have broken the MT82.
Twin disc RXT is not available with a sprung hub.

Right. You're half way @ the cost of a XL trans swap.
Youre mixing things up here though.

If you are a stock MT82 car, to do a XL swap you also need to purchase a new clutch.

If you buy the MT82 purposed RXT and plan to use that in the XL, price isn't too bad, at $1000 or so, plus flywheel, bolts, cost to respline, etc.

However, now that I understand the MT82 RXT is a solid hub, I would never run that in an XL if I did the swap, its just NOT a street clutch, I have driven solid hub clutches before and hated the engagement street driving, too on/off.

Therefore, for me to do an XL swap and get a sprung hub clutch rated for my power goals, I gotta drop $2k no matter what on a clutch, the RXT sprung hub (I attached the link) is $2k.

So I see it as $2k for a clutch whether I switch transmissions or not.

My gut says a Mantic plus a stage 2 calimer trans will live for a long time. Or as I see it, once the billet gear set comes out I will already have the right clutch.

Ben Calimer (on facebook only) has made mention of it on his page and in messages to some of his current and prospective clients. Sounds like its an exclusive arrangement he will have with Gforce.

Last update he gave on FB messenger to me was on August 4th:

"We are waiting on a arbor to cut the syncro teeth. Should be here soon"

I just searched for an hour, couldn't find anything. Mantics are much more common in the GT500's which of course have a stout trans to begin with.

I only found 2 people with MT82's that posted and mentioned using them. Neither have reported them breaking but again very limited posting.

Just ordered my Mantic..... :cheers::headbang:

Man that is a lot of money for a wear part. I personally love my spec stage2+ hybrid. So far it has taken everything I have thrown at it, and has near stock drivability. I could wear it through 4 times for the price of those dual discs, not to mention its got to be way lighter....
