The darn weather forecast is showing me thunderstorms possible on the only day out of the July I am going to hit my next track day... Monday 24 ...
I am not sure what to do, need some input.

I am not concerned about rain, did track days in rain and enjoyed it... I am concerned about hail, which is sometimes probable in these areas after intense heat like we had in New England.

Argh, decisions decisions...

Some tracks offer carport or garage rental - maybe check into that if you're concerned, but don't want to miss the day. Often they are large enough for multiple cars, so you can defray the cost a bit by partnering up with others.

I would depend how heavy. A down pour with the windows down would suck.

I did my last one in rain, it never stopped the whole day, but it wasn't too heavy... It was fine, visibility was OK, and somehow the rain once you go past 60 doesn't make it in.

But I am concerned with bloody hail, last thunderstorm we had a few weeks back hit pretty bad for 15 seconds. No damage done to my other cars sitting outside, but still. I don't want any dents in my stripes or roof

Some of my most memorable track days in the car and on my motorcycle were in full blown rain days. I learned a lot about driving in the wet at 120+ MPH.

I would probably go unless I felt sure I would end up with hail damage. It's usually tough to get refunds from tracks and your track day insurance could also be difficult to get refunded.

I agree with the others that say low traction track events can be enjoyable. It slows everything down and helps you to learn more about car control. It's also easier on the car.

If you adjust the angle on this, it could increase downforce....and protect from hail..

First of all Monday is along way away in terms of weather, especially in New England. The forecast may say thunderstorms right now, but it could be dead sunny or snow that day...noone knows except for Bill Bellichick.

Also, I wouldn't worry so much about hail around here, how often do you see that compared to in the south?

It did hit us with relatively small hail a few weeks back... Lucky mine was undercover, but still no damage to my other 2 cars... This is Newton, MA.

I agree with having fun in the rain, I did so on my last event, and the MPSS were brilliant in the wet also! I'll probably take a chance and go unless it's really really bad...
Thanks

I remember that, must have been very small and concentrated as I live in Belmont and we just had rain that day.

Also depends on where you are going...do they have places to drive undercover in case you get caught out in the rain? Also I assume you won't be going out on the track if it's a torrential downpour, so you'll hopefully have some time to find cover if it starts raining bad.
