It won't. There is no cutting of any bracing, and the skin is already thin. Pushing vents in to bonnets/hoods is a common, so I doubt this does anything at all.any thoughts on how this affects the structural integrity of the bonnet?
yeah the us ones sit recessed as the bonnet is pressed in. i'm popping down to see my coachworks guy at weekend see if he can recess and fold the bonnet down so I can get proper us style fitting. failing that cervini hood here I comeI see the that the vent sits "on" the hood; I assume the US hoods have a recessed hole for the vents. Still looks great either way. I'm tempted (though I'm not sure why - it's purely cosmetic at this point)
Let me know how you get on; I'd rather recess but I think the work would be too involved (or fatigue the skin too much(.yeah the us ones sit recessed as the bonnet is pressed in. i'm popping down to see my coachworks guy at weekend see if he can recess and fold the bonnet down so I can get proper us style fitting. failing that cervini hood here I come![]()
yes they are recessed,Let me know how you get on; I'd rather recess but I think the work would be too involved (or fatigue the skin too much(.
I was, in no way, suggesting Mike or his team weren't great - I'm merely interested.yes they are recessed,
But
when i saw the job Mike had done on his, it looked so good, and to me looked like Factory Spec, Mike also took loads of pictures of mine and also the liner so he could see exactly how they are fitted on the US cars, which helps him with the fitting on the UK cars
I have known Mike a few years, he took charge of my S197 and now this one. For me he treats every car as if it is his own, Fantastc quality from him and his team, I travel 200 Miles round trip cause i know I am getting pure quality. If I did not have hood vents I would trust him to do mine
put it this way, do a google search on Modurstang and see if you get one Bad review

Go to the previous page. Greg_C Is the only person with evidenced pictures. It depends how you 'cut' the hood to how it tapes as the vents are angled. Spogshd cut a small home and used that to mount, whereas Modurstang cut the entire size of the vent and sit it all level and bond it in.Can someone with the vents installed please upload pics from various angles?
I'm asking because I've seem pics of the Roush vents retrofitted to out bonnets and there is something about the way they fit that just isn't quite right. They taper differently at different points.
Just curious if the OEM do the same or whether they fit like a glove etc.
Cheers.
I see them! That would be devilishly difficult to replicate on a painted hood without damaging the finish i'd say. Mounted on the surface looks fine for a good price.page one or 2 on this thread has comparison pictures![]()
It's the distance to ModUrStang that would be the barrier. Plus i'd have them black and would have to add twin or Supersnake stripes to match...and then we'd be into a whole new world of expenseIndeed there is.
There maybe a set of OMM hood vents up for sale btw.
