How exactly would I prevent wear and tear on a FI system?

"used systems suck. but we can sell you a new system for cheap!"

Let's get this started now why should we wait?!

-Proleakers suck inlet elbows and take out cranks
-Paxton is ugly and looks like there's a donkey dick under the hood
-Roush/VMP you have to grind half the block away
-Livernois/Magnacharger is lucky to make 450rwhp
-KB has zero customer service and presence on this forum

Whipple rules because that's what I have so you should get it too!:headbonk:
Ahh... guy has jokes...

This makes it sound like any of the brands of FI aren't going to last, or keep working very long. Are they all really that fragile, do they all end up breaking fairly early? How long can one expect some of the brands to last? How exactly would I prevent wear and tear on a FI system?
Not the point, everything has wear and tear. The point of the post was essentially that unless you know how the unit has been used from install to removal, we would advise against it. That's all.

Totally get what you are saying. Just had been thinking it seems there aren't many discussions about any of the actual blowers ever breaking or wearing out.

You realize that I think only (4) inlets total out of the hundreds of kits actually failed...
(and 1 of which wasn't even our inlet)...
All were repaired or replaced under warranty to the best of my knowledge.

And

I have never heard of an S550 breaking a crank. PERIOD.
And and the S197's which do break cranks have done it with about every power adder out there. LOL.
(oh ya even turbos....so kinda rules out the blower theory.)

But other then that.... carry on :)

Yep just joking. These threads are a joke now. Everyone getting butthurt over who's blower makes 3hp more at 86,000 rpm and which one looks the best, that's obviously the Whipple...haha

I actually almost went with the Livernois/Maggie. Seems like a nice reliable setup. I bet a manual car with full exhaust and a CAI would put down mid 600's on that saggy Maggie...

lol, ive done a few of these now. Not sure what you mean. Theres a tab on the in valley that grinds down with a file in a few minutes, and then the two tabs on the left which come off with a cutting wheel to clear the belt. Total time about 15 minutes.

The Magnuson is a very nice system. Dont be an ass and underrate its power by such a large margin. Additionally, it seems you just want to hate on every system out there. Keep your negative imputs to yourself maybe?
