I think I've narrowed down my boost selection to Procharger D1 Stage II or Roush Stage II . I like the Procharger for the cost and ease of installation, the ability to still add Cobra Jet intake, not to mention the wicked FMIC. I like the Roush because it makes better low end torque and probably a bit more power.

I think either could get me to my goals of 700whp/600wtq.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Option #1
I can go with a brand new Procharger Stage II tuner kit with D1 head unit for $6k. Then add DeatschWerks 95# injectors and JMS BAP with a Lund remote custom tune

or

Option #2
a used Roush Stage II complete kit minus injectors for $5500. No warranty and the possibility there could be issues or something missing.
I will probably go with a Lund remote tune unless I can find a good dyno tuner in the Chicago area.
So which would you choose and why?

These threads are popping up almost daily at this point...

I've had a horrible experience buying a used blower in the past and know another guy that had the same issue. I will never buy used again. I would say the same thing if it were a used ProCharger. I have a Whipple on my Terminator and a PC on the 5.0.

Agree...some things are OK to buy used...but not a SC IMO unless you know the person personally and the history behind it.

Waiting to see the dyne numbers on the Edelbrock TVS 2650 unit.
Yeah, I've never seen anyone run an Edelbrock blower yet. I would think they would make good power.

I got a used D1SC Stage 2 and I'm super happy with it so far. No issues but I replaced a lot of parts like the plugs, air filter, pulley, and belt.

If you go for a used kit, be prepared to replace odds and ends during the install like some random nuts, clamps, plugs, etc.

With that said, I'm extremely happy with my D1SC stage 2. Stock driveability even on the base map from Lund. Amazing noises and feels really fast. The Roush will be incredible as well so it's just a matter of preference.

Used forced induction systems throw up all kinds of flags. Wear and tear on the items before hand is unknown to you, the item could fail shortly after installation or it could be great for years. New products generally come with at least some backing from the manufacturer.

Procharger is a great company with solid products, If you are looking to go with a PD blower though, may I offer a look at our Windstorm TVS2300 Kit? Still under $6k and comes with the injectors and the tuner/tunes.

Let's get this started now why should we wait?!

-Proleakers suck inlet elbows and take out cranks
-Paxton is ugly and looks like there's a donkey dick under the hood
-Roush/VMP you have to grind half the block away
-Livernois/Magnacharger is lucky to make 450rwhp
-KB has zero customer service and presence on this forum

Whipple rules because that's what I have so you should get it too!:headbonk:

BTW the Procharger elbows was a problem for like 5 minutes, and idiot installers take out cranks.

I would steer away from used as well unless you are getting a great deal like Tommy got on his stage two. It is not worth the risk to save a few bucks. If they charger craps out it could take the engine out with it as well.

This makes it sound like any of the brands of FI aren't going to last, or keep working very long. Are they all really that fragile, do they all end up breaking fairly early? How long can one expect some of the brands to last? How exactly would I prevent wear and tear on a FI system?
