my goals are simple. I have had monster turbo 2v sn95s and vortech sn95s but have never had a PD system. I dont want to go radical with it just enough to have a good time and I think 650-675 would fill that bill well. I have read about heat issues with a lot of the PD systems but have also read a lot of people road racing them and jsut need to get some realistic personal experiences with them.

Thanks for all the replies.......
I think (now having experienced different sides) you will be happy with whipple or tvs. 750ishwheel is perfect for the street. Up over 800 rear end gets floaty and car goes sideways even at 90mph.

Tvs is nice instant punch for street and builds but makes it harder to launch at track. Whipple has less punch down low but you can feel it climb and climb quickly.

I havent experienced any major heat issues.

I have heard great things about the beefcake special in regards to price/performance. I dont have any first hand experience with the paxton though.

Not trying to start a flame war just trying to figure out what way to go. I am not a drag racer more of a Road racer and want something that will not melt the paint off my hood after a long Track day, if I can ever get to one again.

I plan to stay stock internals minus OPG and CG. so making 1000RWHP is not needed.
I would build the suspension and breaks. You can make a lot of naturally aspirated power, making your car hard to beat on any track.

For a road race car you really should put more focus into tires, brakes, and suspension. 600+ hp is useless on the track if the car is overheating after every session. (Personal experience from my buddies vortech supercharged S197)

Understood and I am slowly building a plan for that as well. I don't get to go to hsde hardly ever but I do enjoy getting up to cruising speed on the highway very rapidly.

thanks. I have been told that the TS style makes a lot more heat than the TVS but am not sure about use on long runs v/s 1/4 mile pulls.
That's actually the complete opposite. Supercharger head units are just one part of a supercharger package. Intercooler size, heat exchanger, ic pump capacity, resevoir size, fan options also have a huge part in heat control.
