I think the reason why the new whipples dont whine is the closed airbox

The reason they don't whine as much is efficiency. Whine is a byproduct of restriction. The average user doesn't spin a whipple fast enough to get into a lot of restriction.

That being said, Foster makes a whine mod that taps into the airbox if you want the old school blower whine from a whipple.

Mine has the foster mod and even on a slow pulley at 14lbs you can hear it pretty well.

I've been following your videos on YouTube and I'm currently installing a Gen 5 Whipple on my 21. Love the videos by the way. I might have missed it but are you still on a 6rib?

Lol...love it. I have every pulley down to a 3.0 griptec from my 17 Whipple car. Fingers crossed mine does as well or even close to yours. It's a premium car and I'm not doing anything for weight reduction so we'll see how it goes. Are you triple or duel pumps? And I'm assuming a 2nd gear leave with a converter?

still dual pumps, but probably close to the limit. 1050x's so close to the limit for them too. yes, 2nd gear with a 258mm Circle D.

Yeah I have the 1050x's as well, stock converter though :frown: The converter and 3.15 rear gear is the only 2 missing pieces of the puzzle I have left to get. I do have the 1000hp clutches. I may just see how it runs out of curiosity with the stock converter and 3.55 then swap over to 3.15 and circle D for a direct comparison...lol

I’d be interested to see how it does as well. Plenty of people still on a stock converter on the 8’s. Just curious if the 3.55’s will make you shift to 7th at the top end.

I'm expecting the 3.55's will have me touch 7th but I'm curious as to how the 1000hp clutches will hold up and for how many passes...lol. It's freezing here in shit Canada right now so I have to wait until around May before I get to make a pass :crying: but I'll post the results! What settings did you find worked best on your rear shocks?

i usually stick to 5-7 on compression and then 10-11 on rebound, but depends on the track, if it's sticky, I'll keep bumping it up, if I get some spin, i drop compression down quite a bit.

Take it from a guy who has been fast with a Whipple. #WhippleTheWorld

The quality is second to none. One blower can go from mild... all the way to WILD!
