Me crazy, and I can't help myself
Now before I start I will preface this by saying that i don't really expect anyone to feel sorry for me but I figured i would share.

I ordered my car in May this year and like many other had no idea when it would be built so i waited patiently for my call. Well at the end of August i got the news that my car had been assigned a VIN, well i pulled the window sticker and found that i was scheduled to have a build date of Sept 7th. After discussing with my Dealership they anticipated a delivery sometime close to the end of the month. That was perfect as i was scheduled to go away on trip to St. Martin (1st real vacation in 3 years). Well, it turns out my car was finished faster than expected and long story short i will now take delivery the morning i leave for my trip to St. Martin... So there i will be sitting on the beach, unable to enjoy myself because i am going to be dying to get home and experience my new car!

Anyways - here are some pictures of the car that the dealership sent me, i will take some more when i get back home and have some time to properly acquaint myself with the car.

Looks like the car is riding high. Make sure they remove the shipping spacers from the springs before you take delivery.

I bought mine on the way down to my vacation and had to wait 10 days before I could pick it up on the way back! It's doable! Congrats! Bring the manual with you for reading material.

Been to that beach a few times now and even though the planes are quite the spectacle i always find myself with more interesting things to look at :eyebulge:

Good point on bringing the manual, will definitely do that. As for the shipping spacers, i thought that was only on the R cars?

No, I don't think so. Mine doesn't look like that, all jacked up...have a great vacation!

BTW: AG with a black roof was my original choice; I ended up selecting race red with a black roof & track pack.

I will take a look on monday when I'm there. Unless this is something that changed for 2017, the 2016 PDI detail list has that spacers are only on R models but better safe than sorry.

I'm not normally a red fan but that race red with black roof is slick.

Not an expert, but based on the pics, the car looks jacked up, compared to mine.

you know they can haul cars in the belly cargo of planes. So just take some oversize luggage.

Crazy to have it come in like that! I feel your pain.

I had a similar circumstance- I special ordered a Z06 back in 2007 and after it was all said and done, it arrived at my courtesy delivery dealer while I was in the middle of a incredible trip to Ireland. I was so tossed up about wanting to go home early to pick up my Z06 while in the middle of a dream vacation lol. I was so torn. But I rode it out.

When I got home from my vacation, I discovered that my Home AC unit had gone bad and in Florida, that's a bad thing. I didn't know this was a sign of more bad luck to come! The next morning, I went to the dealer and they had my car backed in the corner lot and it was pouring rain pretty bad. They hadn't done a detail job on it, which surprised me. I looked it over as best as I could in the rain (and I couldn't figure out for the life of me why they didn't have it under cover) and then I went in to finish up the paperwork. I had my bank start the wire transfer, and we pulled the car under cover so I could put the tag on and get a better look at the car. Well, it was then that I realized that there was some damage to the paint along the lower driver side of the car! I realized after asking some questions to the detail guys and a few others that the dealer knew the damage was there and tried to hide it from me. The dealer I was buying the car from (which was in another state) cancelled the transaction at my request and sent my money back to my bank, and the contract was torn up. I was devestated that my special order car had been damaged like that, and finding another was going to be almost impossible due to the demand. After calling some of the bigger dealers, however, I found one that helped me out and got me a car about a month later.

I still am paranoid about buying a new car from a dealer now and refuse to do any paperwork sight unseen. But man, i wish I had just stayed in Ireland longer! But there was part of me that thought that if I had been home when it came off the truck, the car may not have been damaged (the delivery report the dealer had sighted no damage, so it probably happened at the dealership it arrived at).
