What do you mean by "a local tuner doing a Lund tune"?
Not sure how a Lund tune works. But back in the day i had my LS tuner dyno and use HP tuners on my 06 C6 Vette and a 2010 5.3 Colorado. He does not do Fords.

So i would like a shop within a hours drive of me to do my tune on the GT.

Another tuner can't do a "Lund tune". Lund Racing's tunes are made by them and them only. If you have another tuner build you a tune than it's their tune.

To make things easier all you need to do it give us a call and order a Lund Racing tune along with the device if you don't have one already and we'll handle the rest.

It's that simple.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, Jared
I guess i have no clue how these Lund tunes work. I always figured the car had to go on a dyno to be tuned like we did on my LS2 Vettte with HP tuners. I guess the device as you call it is plugged into the car and it loads the tune?

You put the Lund tune on yourself. It's an email order tune. You buy a portable tuning device such as SCT X4 or NGauge and Lund send you the tune to your email, based on the specific modifications that you have on your car. Lund builds the tune for your specific car and you even have to provide them with your car's PCM code, so that it becomes tied to your car only.

You then load the tune into the device and then subsequently load it into your cars computer. There is an OBDII port below the driver side dash closer to the left side by the door. You plug in the device and the follow the directions to successfully load it up to your cars computer.

Most of these tunes are pretty safe and usually will have no problems whatsoever. I loaded many Bama tunes into my cars computer more than 10X and have never had a problem. Lund is known to be a very good tuner for this car and seems well respected. I myself am considering a Lund flex fuel tune even though my Bama tune works great. I'm not afraid that switching to Lund will present any issues.

Many people have done this with great success and you can even datalog the car with your tuner and send it to Lund for a revision if needed.

Sounds scary to me. I don't have a lap top and scared i would screw something up. Would rather have a shop do it.

So if the tune comes by e mail then i guess i click on a link that downloads it to the SCT? Then i plug the SCT somewhere under the steering wheel and it loads the new tune?

It's seems scary but it's actually very easy and you shouldn't worry. This is coming from someone who is somewhat of a noob when it comes to cars. This is very safe. Just make sure you're careful and make sure the devices software is updated the latest version and you're good to go.

I suggest going with an SCT X4. It can clear any potential codes and even had a crank relearn function which the NGauge does not.

Thank you very much guys. Well after the watching the video it looks so easy even a cave man can do it. Not sure what the Lund tune and SCT cost, but i would like a 93 tune. I only have a Catback and K&N filter and no other mods.

I know that a dyno tune with Hp tuners gave me a gain of 28 hp and 30 ft lbs on my 2010 5.3 Colorado and about the same gains on a 06 LS2 Vette along with AR headers installed.

I would guess i would notice a nice change with just the 93 tune? My car is a 2015 GT auto.

Yes you will get a noticeable difference. It will noticeably improve your HP and TQ and additionally it will significantly improve your auto shift points and transmission settings. This IMO is what makes the tune so great. Your shifts will be snappier and you will experience more engine braking in manual mode. It will wake up your car. The transmission settings in the stock tune are lame. I couldn't even get it to spin the tires when it was stock tune. More aggressive transmission settings will make it more fun. Stock - the shifts were somewhat lazy or lackadaisical. A tune a will fix that right up. You'll be ready to drop and go.

Now as I said I'm using a Bama tune which is not well liked here on this forum. But I'm having great success with it. Lund seems to be the most popular and well known to make great tunes. I don't think there's any reason to worry about them. IMO a Lund tune will do you right. I'm sure many actual Lund customers can chime in.

You could even get a flex fuel tune and you can run 93 or E85. With E85 you will see even more power apparently. I wanna try it. Apparently you can fill up with 93 or E85 and any combination thereof, and your car's sensors will adjust to your fuel. I'm betting it could also potentially run better than just a simple 93 tune because the logic in the FF tune will adjust for the actual fuel you have in there. So you don't have to worry as much about getting a bad tank of 93 octane. The tune can add more timing IF the fuel octane and conditions allow it to, which will net you more power. Plus this car already had an adaptive ECU which makes this fun.

I bought my car used with high miles and it chirps the tires pretty easy as it is. Not sure if it was tuned before or not. Not sure if i can even buy E85 in my area.

$500 or so is not bad. About what a dyno tune would cost anyways.

we normally send the ngauge for you so you have it once the tune is written, it takes about 30 secs to move the tune over with the free usb we send.

but, if you want to have it preloaded, not a big deal again
