I think you're the first person to have driven the 1le apart from the motortrend crew. Unless... Jonny Lieberman, is that you?

In all seriousness, unless you have proof of it being a 1le, it was likely a 16 SS or a 15 1LE.
Well they were all relatively new so I made an assumption it was a 2016. I just did an image search on 2015 1LE and the white and black cars, look like what I drove.

My comparison is probably non relevant as I here the 2016 is better.

For the record I felt so at home in the mustang on the track I went out and bought one and I have been a GM guy my whole life :-)

So you've been a GM guy your whole life and didn't know the difference? Something smells kinda fishy? When did this test happen?

This summer while I was on Power Tour. Just cause I am was a GM guy doesn't mean I swooned over the camaro, and know every new model of it. Infact I am not a huge fan of the 5th gen, and I evidently have not driven a 6th gen. I have a 64 Corvair, 77 Corvette, 91 Firebird, I have had a Denali, and my old man has a 2001 Corvette.
This is me and some Friends out to lunch, so you can call it fishy if you want

This is me and my new mustang

Notice, we were tracking on this day.

I love that color of your S550. You fell in love with the Mustang and then you bought it? That's pretty awesome that someone let you test their car on a track, and even better that someone let you test their 2015 1LE back to back with the GTPP.

*BOOM*

Just kind of weird. He said he tested a 2017 GTPP and 15 LE, back to back, and he felt so at home with the Mustang, he bought the exact same one? Not saying he didn't test them back to back, just sounds really weird.

The only guy in this thread who has credibility on claiming that performance doesn't matter is Ecovert since he bought the fattest Mustang with the little engine. The rental special cars are nice enough but not a performance car.

The guys clinging to the idea that the Mustang automatically wins when it comes to mod vs mod are sounding pretty desperate. Go ahead and add that $7k supercharger to keep up...and you still have a car that's more expensive than a 1SS, 300 pounds heavier on an inferior suspension and a transmission that is at risk for breaking second/third gear with a decent tire.

The LT-1 has only been available since 2014. If you think the aftermarket won't support this motor, you're smoking something and it's not tires.

There are plenty of great reasons to pick a Mustang over a Camaro. The arguments here only make sense in the context of this forum. Anyone who isn't part of this community probably won't be swayed by the points made here.

So a base mustang GT that weighs 3705 with 60lb SC like a ProCharger setup weighs 300lbs more than a 1SS? So you 1SS weighs 3500 lbs:lol::lol::lol::frusty:

Hell, add a Whipple setup that is 90-100 lbs and puts down 700-750rwhp reliably. Your SC 6G SS is going to get drug. Face the facts Nancy.

You continue to spew false information. Please, please stop. Your true colors are shining through, loud and clear.

If it wasn't for the small handful of us playing devil's advocate here, there would be no point to this forum at all!
Please, please stop. You are so full of shit. I feel it's time for you to leave.

1SS ~3600lbs, GTPP ~3800lbs. Add 100lbs of supercharger.

Am I breaking a forum rule?

Whats so weird? I hang around with a group of hot rodders that like to take their cars to events and do things with them and we all share if we feel like it. We have been hanging for 20 plus years. I have helped a majority of them change a motor or tune their car. We can mostly afford to fix peoples stuff if we break it. Except for Brent he likes that foreign exotic stuff.

Sorry my life style seems so weird to you, I assure you it is real, and great! I drove a new mustang on the road a couple of times because my buddies have been raving about the chassis. It was slightly impressive. When I drove a PP on the track I thought it was majorly impressive, It completely fits my driving style and my fat arse, so i decided it was time to add a new one to the stable.

The Camaro while a good car did not speak to me when at 95% for an extended period of time.
