True, but they clarify it is for drag racing. It's 2400.00, and it uses SN197 spindles. They don't speak to road racing, or how well it would hold up on Michigan's wonderful roads.

Correct. You however didnt specify that it had to be for road course or for poor streets.True, but they clarify it is for drag racing. It's 2400.00, and it uses SN197 spindles. They don't speak to road racing, or how well it would hold up on Michigan's wonderful roads.
I don't think any aftermarket companies are going to offer an aluminum cradle or aluminum control arms for the front of our cars. If they did the cost would be very very high.
We can get alot of weight out of the S550, I am going down that route currently with a goal on not compromising NVH. But you are starting at a bit of a disadvantage. Sure you can do alot to get a closer in terms of comparable power to weight.
However there is unsprung weight and such, which matters with a skilled driver, and will help inspire confidence to the unskilled. Then there is the scenario of running into a gutted 1SS.
For me personally. I think from the weight perspective and what it cost to implement many of those areas/components where the Camaro does have an advantage. I think it may be very well worth the money from the performance angle, I'll have a better idea on that in a month or so.
Who doesn't want to drive their very good looking car all around. :cheers:Correct. You however didnt specify that it had to be for road course or for poor streets.
Also the sn197 spindles give us more options for brake choices. Its a good idea in my opinion
That's still at least 1 year wait from now. A long time for many. That said, it will be a nice refreshI keep hearing if you want a S550, and haven't bought on yet. Wait till 2018. I have heard this from powertrain people, and friends that work in design office.
I also think for parts that owners are not going to swap out. Like control arms, knuckles, cradles. I think the Camaro offers alot of value there for people on the fence.
True but i try to not assume a state has poor roads unless someome mentions it. The latter i didnt know. Lucky im a drag racer and have nice streets i suppose. I thought bmr was working on a front kit as well.Who doesn't want to drive their very good looking car all around.
My only concern with SN197 spindles would be potential for geometry changes. They went away with the original front suspension due to the fact the rear was out driving it.
Yes.Same options?
Wha?I call BS. Performance car buyers frequently will want to spend their money on the best performing car...or wait until the one you like gets its inevitable improvements.
It matters to me.
Why didn't you guys just buy a leftover 2014 GT?
Circuit of the Americas 2016 1LE and a 2017 GTPP with cradle lock outs.Which track did you test them? SS vs GTPP?
Dang! You got a drive a 2016 1LE! Must be a lucky guy...Circuit of the Americas 2016 1LE and a 2017 GTPP with cradle lock outs.
I think you're the first person to have driven the 1le apart from the motortrend crew. Unless... Jonny Lieberman, is that you?Circuit of the Americas 2016 1LE and a 2017 GTPP with cradle lock outs.
Haha. Maybe it is Jonny L!!!!!!!!I think you're the first person to have driven the 1le apart from the motortrend crew. Unless... Jonny Lieberman, is that you?
In all seriousness, unless you have proof of it being a 1le, it was likely a 16 SS or a 15 1LE.
