Why doesn't Ford offer the premium package on V6?

Ford should offer the premium package on the V6. It seems short minded on Ford's part not to offer it. Just my 2 cents.

Too bad really. My last Mustang was a 11 v6 premium pony. Great car, great motor, no turbo. Seems they are phasing out the V6.

Exactly, just too push ecoboost sales, the more the sell Eco's the better overall they qualify for emissions and mpgs since its based on overall sales for the model as in one category. Other threads have been talking about them squeezing the v8 out for a Eco v6 maybe in the future, who knows, they are just milking it and dragging it too meet cafe mpg ratings just like all the other manufacturers. Don't want to use better injectors for better gas mileage.

If I had to make a decision between the V6 and Ecoboost, I would choose the V6. I don't like the turbo lag. I like smooth naturally aspirated engines unless it's done right. Now, that they don't offer premium, I would be looking at the GT. I don't get why an interior package has to effect the type of engine you choose.

When i was looking i couldn't find any V6's and the dealers were pushing hard to get me to buy an ECO. Even after filling out an order for the V6 with the sales person the way i wanted it the GM was reluctant to place the order and was still trying to sell an ECO. Found out from my sales person that the profit margin is the lowest on the V6.

If you want to make up the difference in price i would be happy to trade in my V6 for a GT. Some of us can't afford the higher payments.

I had my last mustang for 14 years before trading in it on a 2016.
The ECO is a new engine turbo combo that i did not feel comfortable buying at this time. No history what is it going to be like with 100k miles on it.

Because they want to sell the Ecoboost. The V6 is a dying engine.

In the past there was no small displacement turbo engine that made the HP they wanted to put in the mustang. Now that there is there really is no need to keep the V6. The V6 really offers nothing more- less HP (a lot less torque) and lower mpg.

With stricter CAFE coming up, that 5mpg more the Eco is rated is huge for Ford's lineup to stay in the guidelines.

Very short minded.... All they had to do, is bump up the power a bit on the V6, but no... GM has it right, by placing the 4 cylinder engine below the V6 AND increasing it's power.

Also they actually removed more from it this year. No 051A package in the 2017 V6...'

Sound and refinement. EcoBoost sounds horrid, especially with the fake-sound disabled. V6 sounds great when revved out.

It would sell better than the EB if it had the same options available, no doubt about that. I'd be in a v6 performance pack had one been available. CAFE is the reason for it getting the shaft.
