Why doesn't Ford (mustang) offer multiple tunes with separate keys

I used to be into jet skis. Before I got out of it, I had a Seadoo RXT with all sorts of mods and upgrades and it would do just under 85 mph with me and only me on it. It would do 62 mph with me and 2 other people and a full compartment of ice and drinks up front.

This was almost 10 years ago and yet, Seadoo even then offered a "learner" key. For teenagers and younger/inexperienced operators to not kill themselves or others. It would choke the rpm limit and hamstring the output so the person could only go like 35 mph.

Ford does something similar with weather mode. You can manually adjust the tune to choke out torque and rpm rate.

But why hasn't Ford offered a valet key or a teenager key that prevents the driver from accessing the full sauce? Maybe this is something they'll be able to implement easier when the electrics take over.

It just seems with all the concerns about teenage driving, car manufacturers wouldn't offer something that limits a different driver to say 55 mph and chokes acceleration. Could be used for young drivers. Could be used when you hand it off at the valet, at the service center, etc.

Ford does have their MyKey feature in settings. You set it up yourself so one key is the admin and the other is the limited one. It can enable a speed limiter and i also believe an rpm limiter as well. also disables track apps and some drive modes like track mode as well. I bought mine used and only came with one key which was the limited one so that was a pain to buy another and reprogram the key.

Awesome, so with a second key, you could set it up as a valet key.

Right now I have my "valet" key set to radio muted unless seabelt buckled, radio limited to 50% max, a speed warning pops up at 45MPH, 65MPH top speed, and Track mode disabled. It 's also in a green glow in the dark silicone keyfob cover on a dayglow green keychain.

The my key also limits radio volume and will block incoming and outgoing texts while the vehicle is moving.

The text thing is pointless because if your kids phone is not connected to sync, it does nothing.
