Why doesn't the Mustang have a fully opened front grill?

I did it for aesthetics, not performance. It looks 100x better to me so I don't see it as a downgrade.

Always amused at elitists trying to push their opinions as fact.
I think it’s clean
But I worry about the rocks that break my windshield I bet they’d wreak havoc to a radiator

There's a metal mesh grille that would stop normal sized rocks from damaging your radiator. It's possible that something could get through the stock one as well. The Cervini's grille actually has much smaller holes than OEM (probably doesn't help airflow at high speeds).

It does look flimsy in pictures but in person, it's very sturdy. The grille surrounds are pretty heavy as well. They don't feel like cheap plastic or anything.

I'm not trying to sell anyone on swapping to Cervini's but I do understand certain criticisms they may receive if you don't have personal experience with them.

I didn’t know there was mesh. I read thouth some comments said up close the edges are unfinished and don’t really clip in perfectly.

is this the case? Or perfect? I may do this one day. I dig the look. Will the mesh rust?

The Cervini's grilles don't clip in at all. There are metal tabs that get screwed into place all around the perimeter of the grille inside the bumper. No damage or holes get drilled into your bumper so it's all reversible. There is a little finesse to fitting the grille compared to the clip in style. As I mentioned, they're pretty heavy duty so they'll tug at the plastics because of the weight if you don't install the metal support brackets for the lower grille.

If you just want the upper and lower grille to match, get the Bullitt lower grille and leave the upper alone. Allegedly, Ebay has a matte plastic set instead of gloss but is otherwise identical to the Bullitt set.

If you want the "deep pocket" open appearance the Cervini's set provides, be prepared to do a bit more fiddling than just swapping out pieces 1-for-1. Some of the install videos you see on Youtube make it seem ultra simple and quick but it takes a few hours to get it done properly if you're starting from scratch. I put the mesh on the grille and prepared all parts the night before installing (with help). This made things go much quicker.

The mesh is coated metal so it's possible that they may rust. I've not noticed that happening to mine after a year in Florida parking within 10 miles of the coast. I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to pull the mesh off and have it re-coated if it became an issue. Also, Cervnin's was pretty easy to get hold of for extra/replacement parts so I'd imagine a mesh replacement wouldn't be difficult to get.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Ford shouldn't have shipped the car with mismatching grilles if they didn't want us swapping them out!

I understand the engineering and design limitations Ford is restricted to but simply making the two grilles have the same finish would have kept me from swapping to a Cervini's upper and lower grille. They look much more aggressive to me, too.

I've had them installed for over a year now and I've not noticed any ill effects. I've confirmed on multiple occasions that the car and its parts are 150 mph proof. That's good enough for me.
Does it forfeit the radar cruise/collision assist?

Hi Andrew. You might want to check the date of the posts you are responding to. This thread is from 2021 and many of the posters are no longer active. I catch these as I have my watch setting to “on”.
