I like to disassemble things.
MGW will have a video that includes a breakdown of the hardware, just as George has done with most every other shifter he sells. I talked to him about a shifter with a milled out section so that you could see the internals in action too. Either way, there should be more coming as he rolls this one out.

I'll be getting one when they come out. Had one on my 13 and 14 5.0s. Worth every dime.

I put an MGW shifter in my 2011 GT because the shifter in that car had a problem. There was welding spatter on the shift rod and it ate up the bushings. The MGW was much better than the worn out factory part. It was a nice unit. I didn't replace the shifter in my 2015 GT. It was fine - that transmission shifted really great.

I'm not in any hurry to do anything with the shifter in the GT350. It's pretty good IMO. Not perfect, or even as good as the 2015 GT, but I don't think the steak/bologna metaphor is accurate based on my past experiences.

If you thought you were happy eating just baloney sandwiches all your life how do you think steak would taste?
I think we are more on levels of New York Strip to Filet Mignon. I've felt Honda shifters less precise than this.

This shifter is much better than the unit in my 13 B302.

The major reservation I have about the MGW is the acquisition of reverse being a push down maneuver. I prefer the collar.

The stock GT350 shifter is garbage IMO. I now know why after seeing the pictures of it. Good thing it's an easy fix.

This mod will be on the list of must do mods in the future... right after I put the expensive plastic wrap on the front :D

Thanks for posting OP

I'd love to have a shifter with a shorter throw. One area where the regular GTs are superior to the GT350 is the shifter feel.
These are all opinions but do you really think the GT shifter is better than the GT350's? Feel? Just my experience of 12-14 and 15 16 GT's and know my 350, the 350's is superior in every way. The 350's shifter is a short shifter. IMO it is aggressive and has positive shift engagement, very mechanical in feel no vagueness.. Can it be made better? Sure, but I have yet at this point felt it needs to be upgraded. I have tracked the car and it performed flawlessly and assured my every shift. the 15 shifter was also better than the previous however I was not completely sold. 12-14 shifter? Frgedaboud'id!!!! horrible! crap! First mod I made was the shifter...

That was one thing about the MGW I put in my 2011. Reverse became much more difficult to obtain when compared to the factory shifter. There was an adjustment for it, but I never bothered to pull the console apart a second time in order to do the adjustment.

Having just installed the MGW Race-Spec shifter in my 2016 GT/PP I can only tell you what a night and day difference it is. I didn't "hate" the OEM shifter to begin with, but knowing what precision MGW's machining is like (I use nothing but their sight pushers for my gun work) I bought it without knowing much about it. My god man, all I have to hear is "available now" and I'll be buying one for my 2017 Shelby. It's just one of those things that you find yourself smiling about as you're flipping through gears, the crispness, the accuracy, the solid feel and build...they make an incredible product.
No I'm not affiliated with them. I wish I were, I'd love a deal on the GT350 version when it comes available haha
